There's a world out there that we should see
October 2nd, 1:54 pm
Lissianna was thankful it wasn't quite windy today, just a hint of a slight breeze. Her steps were slightly springy as she crossed the bridge to Hogwarts grounds. Today was the day she started flying lessons. She could remember how it was her first day of flying class all those years ago. The broom would only respond to simple commands and would not fly more than five feet off the ground, no matter how hard she tried to fly higher. She never gave up, but only ended up being able to do the bare minimum to pass the course with an Acceptable.
Being able to fly would make things easier, though. She wouldn't have to leave the house and walk an hour and a half to get to Hogsmeade, or take the Floo Network to get to any other place. Apparation still made her nauseous, so she tended to avoid doing so unless in an extremely dire circumstances, circumstances she had yet to be in. Yes, flying would be good. To feel the wind in her face and look down and see so much more than she could on the ground.
The practice pitch loomed ahead of her. She was glad that . . . Gideon . . . was providing her with practice brooms. Excavations in through the many closets and rooms in the manor proved unfruitful. She really couldn't remember if her father had flown anywhere. He just appeared and disappeared throughout her life, one second walking through the room, the next on another trip against the Death Eaters.
Lissianna tugged the hem of her shirt. In observance of the letter, she was wearing a pair of sneakers and jeans bought from a muggle store near Diagon Alley she normally frequented. The door to the practice pitch was open right in front of her. Liss took a deep breath and walked through. It was now or never.
