Things were off to a flying good start. Good in that they had successfully freed the two slaves they had set out to free (a father son combo), while they were being transported to who the hell knows where; a potential buyer most likely. Good in that they were evading the Imperium Guards and Slavers had yet to catch them. And good in that they were steadily making their way to the Riordan's safe house…or at least that was the plan. The only current glitch now, was that Cesare had gotten separated from the group temporarily. On a plus note though, the SAVIOR agent was pretty sure he had 98% of the idiots following him instead of Miranda and the other two.
He hurled a bone breaker curse over his shoulder as he vaulted some crates lining an alley he’d managed to duck into, successfully hitting and taking out two of his pursuers, followed closely by a third who hadn’t been quick enough to dodge his now unconscious comrades. Ces laughed as he dodged a few spells, clearly having fun despite the fact that if he was caught, things would be anything but pleasant. Quickly turning a few sharp corners he effectively broke the line of sight of his pursuers. Now he just needed to disappear. Locating a fire escape, Cesare pulled himself up tight against the metal grating floor, blending in with all the shadows in the narrow alley. The shouts and curses of the frustrated idiots who were supposed to be following him made the man smirk with absolute glee.
He hung where he was for a good ten minutes as sounds of pursuit gradually began to fade. Stupid gits. Two had passed right under him and didn’t even notice. No one ever looked up. Once he was sure the narrow alley he was in was free and clear he dropped to the ground, landing in a crouch wand ready, just encase. Now to find Miranda. Hopefully she hadn’t run into any problems. Ces set off at a slow jog in hopes of catching up to the rest of the group, keeping to shadows and narrow alleys that gave him plenty of places to hide if needed. After another ten minutes of wandering in the general direction of the safe house and dodging Imperium Guards left right and center, he turned a blind corner and quite literally plowed into someone. Cesare gave the mystery person a hard shove as he pushed himself away, wand drawn and a curse on the tip of his tongue, that was until he realized the person he had just run over was the same person he had been looking for. He dropped his wand and let out a tension relieving chuckle. ”Miranda?! Give a guy a heart attack will you!”
