10:30 a.m.
The owl Casey had received only last night had been a welcome surprise. He had been worried sick since Julian had failed to show up for their plotting session on the third. Thirteen days ago! And no one had seen him since. The father had worried that he would never see his son again, but then this letter had appeared with mention of Trevor, no less. Had the bastard taken him, and he'd just managed to escape? If so, how was he remaining off the radar? The Trace was on all underage wizards, and Julian had no idea how to even apparate. He was much too young. Surely Trevor could have easily found him. But his son surely hadn't been placed into Ravenclaw for no reason at all. Surely he had more brains than he sometimes gave him credit for. He would know to simply matriculate into muggle society and lay low until it was safe to try to send an owl to find him for help. Yeah, that had to be it.
Needless to say, last night had been a fairly sleepless night. He'd fall asleep and then jerk awake only minutes later to look at the clock. Nine had come around so slowly because of that. Still, as soon as the clock had struck nine, Casey was up, showering, eating, and then dressing. Naturally, he had down time, so he had debated how exactly to best disguise himself. Yes, The Leaky Cauldron was technically in the muggle world and therefore not quite so often frequented by wizards these days, but on the off chance that he would end up recognized, he had tried to find a hat that would go with what he was wearing. In the end, a fedora, as much as he avoided them, was all that seemed to go well enough with what he was wearing. So, he'd headed over to The Leaky Cauldron to wait about in case Julian were to arrive early. He'd seated himself off in a corner where he could see just about everyone who entered and had ordered himself a coffee. He had to stay awake and alert somehow, right?
