Following In Search of Closure.

Casey nodded, holding out his hand for hers. They only had a few more minutes before the safe house would switch locations, and he didn't want to risk not getting there in time. Once she had taken his hand, he disapparated, and moments later they appeared before the maze that lead into the safe house grounds and to the buildings. Too bad they couldn't apparate in past this thing, but he understood it was necessary to ensure better protection. The maze was a confusing mass of vines that moved and shifted if you didn't go through fast enough, which only happened if you had never been brought through by someone who knew the way. Sometimes it took a few trips doing such to memorize it, but as such, Casey kept his hand grasping hers and began to hurry, his lit wand held out in front of him to ensure they didn't stumble on a creeping vine or something.
Once they were through the maze, they appeared on a pathway that lead to a small square building. Casey opened the door and entered, finding before him four doors. To get through this maze, he would have to go through all three other doors in the right order. It was a good thing he had done this a lot more often lately. With ease despite the confusing way of re-entering the same room but from a different angle, Casey lead them through until they'd gone through each of the other three doors. Once they went through the final door, they emerged outside. Before them lay the courtyard and closest to them was the Corporum building and on the opposite side of the courtyard was the smaller Capitalum building. He headed to the closer one, which housed the sleeping quarters and all the other necessities of safe house living.
Once inside, Casey lead her quickly towards the stairs that lead towards his room. A few minutes later, they had reached it, and Casey opened the door and stood back so she could enter first. "Home, sweet home--for now," he stated. He really didn't want to be here still, after all. The Order was a joke these days, and he'd much rather be out where he could do something with other people who actually gave a damn, but for Julian's sake, he had come back here. He couldn't go off and "save the world" when he had a son who needed him. Of course, Julian had run off, but that was beside the point. He had had no way of foreseeing that decision, especially since the night before they had been discussing ways to off Trevor together.
Casey's room was frugal at best. It had a full-sized bed, a nightstand, a desk, and a chair. It was all he could ask for, though. It was more than what he'd had on the run on his own before returning here to see his son and try to whip the Order back into shape. (What a futile effort the latter had been.) On his nightstand stood their wedding photo and a picture of Evie in the hospital after having given birth to Lydia. Beside her on the hospital bed was Julian and in her arms was baby Lydia. These were all he had dared take from their old house before he'd gone on the run. On his pillow was his open journal with a quill sitting over it. He had been writing in it a lot more of late, trying to deal with his confused feelings regarding future Julian and trying to figure out how to most efficiently move things along regarding the kidnapping. Writing his thoughts down had always helped him keep himself straight.
"You still like pumpkin juice?" he asked, walking over to his magically charmed ice box. "Have some in here. Can have whatever you like, though." He opened the ice box and looked over his shoulder at her before moving to the side slightly to make room for her to look if she wanted. On the shelf beside it were some pumpkin chocolate chip cookies. Lucy had made them the night before for the children and had evidently brought him some to enjoy since he'd left the festivities this evening early.
