Alright, rule number one while traveling using the floo network: you keep your mouth shut. Too bad Melissa wasn't thinking about it. She'd opened her mouth to speak the words of her location, realized in terror she didn't know where she was going, and by that time it was too late, her mouth had coated in a thick layer of soot.
She spluttered and choked, covering her mouth and face with her forearms as the world spun around her. What if she'd done it wrong? What if she ended up in some random grate, like on of a Death Eater or ministry official? She was panicking, and knew it, but there was no turning back. Even if she could somehow stop her transportation, there was no way she could go back to the Manor, not now she knew Kurt plans for her. She wasn't just going to stay a house slave, which she could have dealt with, no he was going to sell her, with her virginity as the number one high light of the auction.
The thought brought tears too her eyes, along the burning in her throat making her splutter.
And then, all of a sudden, the world stopped spinning and she found herself stumbling out of a unknown grate. As the new cool air hit her face, mixing with the painful sting of the soot made them stream and cloud her vision. Her foot caught grate and she fell, coughing and crying from the grate onto her knees and then side.
Her eyes fast began to burn, her thin body taking the full force of the fall with no fat reserves to serve as a cushion. She cried out, feeling the pain of the hard stone floor erupting right along her left side, spreading across her weak body.
Melissa knew the little food and hard labor had taken it's toll on her body, but it was not until now, on the stone floor as her eyes streamed, stomach wretched and her side throbbed, she realized she could not bring herself too get up or even too look at her surrounding area.
This could be a dangerous place, something could have gone wrong, but Melissa still couldn't bring herself to push herself up, instead slumping against the stone and her mind being pulled into darkness.
