The harsh, unforgiving cold of winter has long set in. Snow covers the ground and students tend find things to do inside as much as possible. With the Yule Ball fast approaching, students certainly have things to discuss and plan.
Politically, things are nowhere near as sound as people are lead to believe. There is turmoil amongst the ranks of the Death Eaters as Callid Warren and Fierro Darque plot against Trevor Williams, who is aided by Sienna Faber, but can she be trusted? Even amongst the people, there seems to be social unrest as SAVIOR works to free slaves and the leader of the Order of the Phoenix finds himself captured. Unification is necessary, but will it happen?

It had been years since Morgana had last seen any part of Hogwarts. As a child she had been a part of the most noble and great house of Slytherin. She had excelled there and gained recognition as a student who was set apart from the others and destined for great things as well as a a person with high goals and tenacity. She had then not seen the halls of the school until the time when she, alongside Trevor, acted as an agent for the Dark Lord. She had disguised herself as a pregnant barmaid that was the result of Casey's drunken revels and almost broken apart the most feared couple of the entire movement. The next time she had seen the grounds of Hogwarts was during the deciding battle. She remembered the entrance into this very hall where she stood triumphantly now, she remembered the fight and then very little as she had been gravely wounded.
Now, fully recovered, with her side in control and countless power and her finger tips she had returned to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry with a small satisfied smile running across her lips. This was hers now. She was not the headmistress nor would she ever care to be, but this was all hers now. In a few months when her true status and Trevor's chosen consort was known to the world, she would be able to do as she pleased with this school if it was her desire. She could tear it down and start a new one if she liked. It would be hers along with everything else. But, for now it would do to step on its grounds and know she would be welcomed with respect and great diligence by both the professors and the teachers- all supporters of Trevor and his regime and all aware of her great power in it and what she did to obtain and retain that power under the service of the Dark Lord and their current Lord.
Her appearance her, however, was not for the pure enjoyment of gloating and reminiscing about her various times on the premises. No, she was here for business of a serious nature. The secretary of education was ill and she was to fill it. Of course Morgana had taken due time and diligence in studying the material she was going to present to these young adults and children. She had even taken the time to prepare a little speech and review her own professions placement from when she had gone to school. That was an interesting document. Her recommendation had been for a high powered ministry position in assisting the Minister for Magic. How little could have her head of house predicted that she would be the press secretary for the supreme ruler of the English wizarding world? She certainty had fulfilled her expectations. Her smile widened in a bemused way as she thought of her job recommendation. Now here she was, acting as the one guiding and shaping young lives for the future- not the one being molded and shaped.
Ready as she would ever be for this particular mission and all its expectations, Morgana stepped into the wide doors of the Great Hall and made her way too the teachers table. It seemed she had arrived right on schedule- right before lunch; ready to take a look around and the operations of the school for a bit as well as refresh herself, and then onto placing the students after a brief interview. During which she would take down the names of a few especially interesting students who showed proper promise and pass them along to Trevor as she was instructed- of course taking time to grab a protege of her own perhaps if one struck her. After the process was over she would pull her Lord away for a briefing and perhaps some dinner unbeknownst to his darling wife and then send him back with only thoughts of her and their future in his mind- nothing of Evie.
But that was the future and the time at hand was nothing to be taken lightly. Morgana put her things down next to the head spot at the teacher's table and walked to the podium on the platform- watching and waiting. The headmaster would be of course coming to greet her soon and the students would arrive as well. Then there would be work to do, much work to do....

As the winter holiday quickly approached, the entire school had begun to grow restless. Lance was one of the few who could care less. Getting away from the school for a couple of weeks would not affect the amount of time he spent with “friends” and other people. More likely than not, he would be left to his own devices as his father helped with the regime. Perhaps he would be dragged to some party or another celebrating some pointless holiday—just an excuse for people to get together, get drunk, and make fools of themselves as far as the Ravenclaw was concerned—but aside from that, he did not plan to get out much. He had never been one for messing with snow, even when he was younger. True, magic could help him now that the Trace was no longer applicable due to his age, but did he really want to deal with the hassle? Not really unless it proved to be the only way to get a decent moments’ thought between house elves and whatever slaves his father may or may not have added to the “collection.”
Thoughts of what the upcoming visit from the Secretary of Education could possibly mean had also preoccupied the head boy’s mind of late, though he wasn’t too worried. It was probably to take a survey concerning the Magical Politics professor, Timotei Williams, and his effectiveness. Aww, how sweet. They actually cared—not. But whatever the case, it couldn’t be too bad. It was simply fifth through seventh years that had been mandated to attend, so maybe it had to do with things only O.W.L. and N.E.W.T. level students had to think about.
As it was, Lance was running early, and he sat at the Ravenclaw table by himself and glanced up. Hardly any professors were here at the moment. Maybe he was right. Surveys or something. Yet this woman was not who he expected. Rather, he recognized her from five months ago at the Ministry’s Department of Public Record. She had to be the one to grant him access to the file of that bloke from the masquerade. Morgana Calloway was this woman’s name, and she was the Secretary of Press. What on earth was going on?

To be honest, Aiden was rarely concerned about these visits from the Ministry or some other part of the government. Over the past couple of years, it had become commonplace for them to come, lecture them about something, and then leave. It was all a big to-do about nothing as far as he was concerned. Usually, he napped if the lecture was long enough or pretended to do so and do things to amuse his fellow students or mock the speaker. The “roasts” he held in the Slytherin Common Room were quite often highly entertaining. He didn’t care if that was his own opinion and no one else’s either. If he was amused, it was funny. End of story.
Due to his attitude about the subject, the Slytherin was taking his time to put back on his uniform. It was rare for him to care if he appeared disheveled or not, and as usual, he didn’t care, but during the winter he at least bothered with properly buttoning, tucking in his shirt, putting on his tie, and putting on his vest. Keeping warm in the castle wasn’t easy, and he did whatever it took. So, once everything was in place, he searched for his robe, putting it on and securing it in place with the button. There. It was as close to proper schoolboy as the seventeen-year-old would get.
He left the dorm room and made his way to the cold dungeon common room, finding most of his house mates chattering about the visit that had been announced his morning at breakfast about the Secretary of Education supposedly coming later that day. He rolled his eyes and headed out, figuring that dealing with lightening the apprehensive mood (What was to be apprehensive about? Not even Professor Williams’ class was that horrible and he’d been one of these random appearances.) was pointless. It didn’t take long to make it through the Slytherin side of the dungeons and up top, spotting a few Hufflepuffs coming up from their side. He headed the few yards to the Great Hall and quickly made his way over to his table, sliding into his seat and resting with his arm lazily on the table, his head in his hand.

Subaru was never one to actually ever arrive on time for anything unless his well being depended on it. He had been out walking along the edges of the Forbidden Forest for most of the morning in favor of attending Charms, every now and then practicing a spell or two on his way. He had at least had made it to his morning potions class which turned out quite well. He had his paper in on time for once and had finished brewing with plenty of time to spare so in a showing of good faith the professor had let him leave early with the promise he show up on time to the next lesson. Thus he found himself wondering the grounds and eventually making his way to his usual walking trail, down by the lake and eventually ending up near the forest.
Breakfast had been rather dull until the Headmaster had announce a visit by the Secretary of Education. He wasn't exactly sure as to why the Secretary of Education would want to come to Hogwarts, aside from the fact that education was her job, but perhaps she was just here to observe the new professor of Magical Politics at his post. But what ever the reason for her visit didn't really matter to Subaru.
It was getting later in the morning before he realized he had actually missed charms in its entirety and that lunch and the subsequent arrival of the Secretary of Education was just around the corner. He began making his way back to the castle and in to the foyer. After semi straightening out his robe and readjusting his tie he made his way into the Great Hall. Lucky for him none of his professors where there yet or they probably would have died from shock to see Subaru not just on time for something but actually early. Well at least there was hardly anyone there. He began making his way to the Slytherin table, giving Lance a mock salute (he was the only other person there aside from Aiden and a few other Huffelpuffs) and made to sit across from Aiden. On his short trip to the table he had noticed someone standing but the podium in front of the head table. Not entirely sure if this was the Secretary of Education they were supposed to meet he looked at Aiden and cut straight to the hart of things.

"If I knew, do you think I'd still be here?" Aiden replied in the same volume. Of course, the answer to that was, yes, he'd still be there. After all, he would then want to know why this person was here, but that was beside the point. He quickly added on nonchalantly to prevent any retort from his teammate, "Secretary of education, maybe?" He shrugged, sitting there a few moments quietly before deciding to tease Subaru. After all, anyone who knew anything knew that Subaru was never early. "But what's with you? I mean, lately? Essay on time, now on time to see the possibly 'hot' secretary of education... Next thing you know, you'll be actually showing up in time to catch the snitch." Yes, the latter was a joke, one the team had that he was not certain if Subaru was savvy on, but what did it matter?
With a smirk, he glanced back at the Barbie blonde woman, secretly musing to himself if that was her natural color. He thought it made her look out of place and odd, but apparently she didn't and neither did enough people for her to care. So, he was going to choose not to care about that or the fact that her body about made up for it from what little he could actually tell. He sighed, glancing back. "Too bad they can't be decent enough to provide us with something worth looking at while listening to her drone on with, 'Blah, blah, blah,' eh, mate?" He didn't dare try staring at some nearby girl who might join at some point. House relations were best kept at least decent since these people slept only the distance of the common room away from him.

Walking down the corridor to the Great Hall, Lily was deep in thought. It wasn't everyday that the Ministry came to visit Hogwarts, afterall. What she couldn't figure out was why the Ministry was coming. Of course she knew about the mandatory lecture for the fifth through seventh years, but they hadn't exactly been told what it was all about. Lily figured it would be some drone from the Secretary of Education's office, filling their heads with malarkey of one sort or another. Well at least it got her out of her classes for the day.
Entering the Great Hall, Lily nodded to Aiden with a slight smile before crossing the Hall to the Ravenclaw table. Seeing Lance sitting by himself, she gave him a slightly warmer smile than she had given the Slytherin and took a seat next to hom. Looking up at the Ministry woman, she realized she knew the woman's face, if only by reputation. She was Morgana Calloway, the Press Secretary, not the Secretary of Education at all. In fact, Lily couldn't even figure out why the Press Secretary was here at all. Lily couldn't help wondering about that, and turned to Lance, "Isn't that the lady Press Secretary? What business would she have giving a lecture for the Secretary of Education?"

Lance glanced over at Lily when she entered, giving her his equivalent of a smile before looking off at Morgana and then the table again before back to Lily as she asked him a question. "Yes, she's the press secretary," he replied. "And I don't know what business she would have. I'm assuming the Secretary of Education must be late and Miss Calloway's only here because she's covering the event in the Prophet. And if that is the case, then whatever this is must be important." He shrugged, glancing back at the lady and sighing, tapping his fingers on the table lightly.
After a few moments, he looked back at Lily. "Do you suppose this will start anytime soon?" asked the relative Hogwarts veteran of the still fairly new to this stuff newcomer. Honestly, he hoped he was wrong about the Secretary of Education being late because he just wanted to go up to the common room and study for a while. None of this really made sense to him anyway. Usually the only time you saw the Secretary of Education around the castle was if it was towards the end of the school year and the O.W.L.s and N.E.W.T.s were coming up or had passed and the fifth years had to choose their path of education to gear up to their occupation. This inability to predict what tonight was going to be about had him annoyed while slightly curious, but irritability was soon going to start in on him. It wasn't that long until this should begin--two at most--and yet he did not see the Secretary of Education or the professors, though students were beginning to trickle in a little more steadily now. He rolled his eyes at the sarcastic remark Aiden had made, but had no time to insert a sarcastic remark of his own as Aiden had continued on and mentioned it could possibly be the Secretary of Education. Whatever. It didn't really matter if anyone knew who she was or not because come meal time the whole school would find out. He chanced another quick look at the lady at the podium before he realized Aiden was poking fun at him.
He couldn't help but smirk at the Slytherin's sense of humor. It was odd of himself to be early without good reason and meeting the Secretary of Education, even if she was 'hot' wasn't exactly a good reason. His eyes narrowed slightly at the comment about him arriving on time to catch the snitch. It was a running joke with the team and Subaru didn't mind for the most part as he was rather used to it after almost being late to a few matches.
"Ah but you should know that the only real reason I was on time this morning was because of that stupid announcement made at breakfast. As for the essay part.....well the topic was finally interesting and no I am not turning over a new leaf. Plus I ditched on charms so that makes up for my ah earlier eagerness and my current plight of sitting here with you." He let out a soft chuckle. "Besides if I ever did show up to catch the snitch on time, you and the rest of the chasers would be out of a job. I'd have the snitch before you even had a chance to kick off. I mean we need to make it interesting for the other teams somehow ya know."
He let his mind wander for a bit, thinking about what they would learn of this woman. She didn't seem all that great, not that appearances meant anything these days. This was so not worth it in his mind. Even a rip roaring game of quidditch would be more amusing than all this waiting around for things to happen. It took him a second to realize that Aiden was speaking exactly what he was thinking. It would be blah blah this and blah blah that.
"Too bad is right" he casually replied. "I could be doing much better things like procrastinating, skipping, and causing general frustrations for many a professor." He sighed dramatically. "What is the world coming to."

Today was an odd day, thought Headmaster Geoffrey Tennant to himself as he wandered the halls of the wizarding school. Then again, one could argue that with about 560 students running around the place every day of the week, it was a rare but joyous moment when things were not strange or annoyingly busy. However, today was odd in a different way, for this morning he had been informed the press secretary, Morgana Calloway, was to take the place of the Secretary of Education to discuss the future with the children. Undoubtedly, it would be some sort of propaganda devised to point the students towards a lifetime of loyalty to the regime, which he himself did support, but he also wasn't stupid. He had noted the addition of Magical Politics and had sat in on a few classes. He knew what Williams' brother was here for, and it wasn't just what the students and everyone else believed it was.
It was interesting, however, the theory of sleeper agents. The idea of brainwashing in and of itself always was. It brought with it ethical dilemmas and boundaries to be crossed--boundaries that Lord Trevor Williams seemed unlikely to heed. Not that it mattered, really. These children had no knowledge of what was being done to them nor would they until the word was said to them at graduation whether they liked it or not. Nevertheless, it was questionable as to whether or not it would work on the current group of seventh years. It was a new experiment, and usually such things took time, he imagined, so unless all eighty of their seventh years were weak-minded (a "fact" which Tennant knew to be false), this year would be a failure as far as he could figure. Perhaps they would be more easily influenced, but complete drones? No. This generation could still join pesky, annoying little rebellion movements such as SAVIOR or the Order. They could start protests. It was a mess.
So, discussing future. What a grand idea, wasn't it? Discussing it would do little, he thought, but that was why he had encouraged students of every year to go. It was never to early to start them thinking on what they wanted to do with their lives as far as he saw it, especially not when what you were would determine so much about how well you would do in life in this society. The more loyal one's job could present him to be to the regime, the more likely he was to exceed. The reverse was also true. All one needed to do to see that was to look at the slaves at Puxley or the prisoners in Azkaban, and he would have his proof there. Beaten, raped, and otherwise tormented. It was sad, but that was thinking and feeling as though they were poor and incapable, which they weren't. Mentally, they were strong. Mentally, could they not think of a way to outsmart their captors? They were not at a complete disadvantage, so he did not feel entirely sorry for even them. They had received what they deserved anyway.
With a slight clearing of his throat, which was truly a disguised chuckle, Geoffrey walked past two first years who were playing tag or something in the corridor. It wasn't too long before he reached the Great Hall and the professor's table and spotted Morgana. He plastered on a polite smile and walked over, clasping her hand in his and giving it a shake and telling her, "What a pleasure it is to have you, Miss Calloway." After asking her if she would mind stepping aside for a moment, he stepped up to the podium, tapping it with his wand a few times to draw everyone's attention. "Good evening, students. It is with regret that I must tell you the Secretary of Education is unable to come this evening to speak with you, but it is with great pleasure that I introduce to you Morgana Calloway, our press secretary. She has a topic to discuss with you that I am certain all of you will find interesting as it's something each and every one of you must think about at some point or another. So, without further ado, let's welcome Miss Morgana Calloway!" He stepped back, smiling to her as he clapped politely before making his way to his chair near the center of the table.
It's all the little things... ...that create the big picture.

Aiden couldn't help but chuckle at that. "Well, we could still cause frustration for this lady. Might earn a month's worth of detentions, but honestly, we wouldn't want to disappoint, would we?" he replied, turning his head as he saw Headmaster Tennant walk into the room and watched how he took her hand in his hands before shaking and giving a roll of his eyes. "Match made in heaven, you think? Tame him a little?" He rolled his eyes again and sighed, resting his head in his hands as he stared at the table. Honestly, this was going to be the longest hour or two of his life. Somebody tell him there would be refreshments of some sort. A drink at the very least? (Though he'd love food as well!)
Of course, pleading with an imaginary force wouldn't go too well, so when the headmaster spoke, he watched boredly, sighing and muttering for dramatic effect, "Here it comes, the moment we've all been waiting for: the moment she tells us Williams was caught running around with underwear on his head, eh?" Ok, not all that funny, but it was the best he could do at a moment's notice when it felt like his IQ had dropped about fifty points just trying to take the time to figure out why this wasn't simply rescheduled when the secretary of education was available, but who was he to question that? He supposed this woman, Morgana or whatever, would hve to explain that to him because he was drawing nothing but blanks.

Subaru quietly chuckled at the thought of causing some trouble, even if it did deal him out a detention or two for his troubles. Come to think of it he probably had enough detentions banked up that he'd be doing them well into his 7th year, so really a few more couldn't hurt. His gaze slowly moved to the newcomer to the hall, the Headmaster had finally showed and was making his way to where the mystery lady was standing. He rolled his eyes at the display and smirked when Aiden suggested the lady, Miss Calloway, would 'tame' Tennant. That was something he defiantly didn't need to picture, not now or ever for that matter. The Headmaster seemed to drone on and on about nothing of importance. A meeting with Calloway, big deal. As the minutes ticked by he officially decide that this would be the first and last time he ever showed up early. He focused his gaze back on Aiden, a mischievous glint in his eyes.
"Any ideas as to how to liven this place up a bit. Detentions don't scare me, I already have enough banked to carry me well into my 7th year so a few more won't hurt things." he said, his cunning mind already thinking up a dozen or more ways to adequately cause some chaos without getting caught.

Did he have ideas? Well, yes and no. It depended if he could sneak out and down to his stash (Ok, maybe it wasn't that big anymore, but those first year girls had been too hard to resist pranking.) he'd been saving for such boring occasions as these. He really should have brought it along, he supposed, but then again, it may have come across as a might suspicious, no? "Have some pixies back in the dorm, if we're going for major distraction, some other stuff... Or we could transfigure stuff...podium to a...mouse? Maybe both so we don't get caught? Sneak back to the dorm, look through my stuff for more ideas, maybe? Not like we'll miss much."
Yeah, he really needed to reset his brain today. First lame jokes, now so-so ideas? As long as the other just counted it as an off day for him, Aiden supposed his reputation would survive, but maybe he ought to let others do the thinking for a while to spark his creative juices. Sounded like a plan, he thought. Hopefully.

Pixies and a transfiguration eh? Well now that would cause a scene for sure. Where the heck had Aiden acquired pixies from though? Dark Arts or the forest perhaps?
"Pixies? That sounds like way to much fun to pass up. If you grab the pixies and set them loose, I can make an attempt at a transfiguration of the podium, turn it into a mouse as you suggested. It shouldn't take you long to fetch them would it? Cast a notice me not charm and be back in a span..." he said mischievously.
He wasn't sure if Aiden knew of his horrid track record with Transfiguration, actually how could anyone in the school not know of his horrid Transfiguration record. Nothing ever went the way he wanted it. The object, victim, of choice would usually only Transfigure half way if at all, or it would do something highly unexpected like say, sprout extra leg, disappear, or explode for that matter. Well at least if there was pixies flying around hopefully the professors and the general commotion would allow them to go un-noticed.
He smirked. What a fun day this was turning out to be.

Aiden, unfortunately, had absolutely no idea what Subaru's abilities or lack of abilities were when it came to magic. Certainly, he heard rumors, but usually those went in one ear and out the other if they weren't about himself or a friend. It was as simple as that. If the Slytherin had paid a little more attention, perhaps it would have saved him whatever disaster was to come unless some twist of fate didn't allow for it. However, Aiden merely smirked and nodded as he pushed himself up, walking past a professor that was on his way into the room but had stopped near the doorway and off to the side as the headmaster had introduced Morgana but had not yet moved. The professor asked something about where he was going and the boy simply said he was headed for the loo. Easy as pie.
He quickly made a right on the far side of the stairway to the first floor and headed down the other staircase into the dungeons. It took a few minutes but he soon arrived at and entered the common room and went to his dorm, digging his box of pixies out from his dwindling supply of pranking necessities. Of course, seeing as they were at the bottom of the cluttered trunk, it took a short while but finally, he left the dorm, everything as it was and the box concealed on his person. He was as innocent as the rest of them and soon to be enjoying the fruits of his labor, small though his labor might have been.
He simply crept right into the Great Hall once he arrived and made his way as conspicuously as possible before sliding into his seat across from Subaru and motioning towards his robes to indicate that was where their little fiendish friends were. "You know what you're doing, right, mate?" he asked in a hushed voice, raising a brow. It wasn't like he really cared. In his mind everyone could do transfiguration easily by fifth year. Hell, even he could when he was in Subaru's year and he wasn't exactly the best student on earth. He devoted most of his brains to other activities that were more fun and saved only some for academics.
