”As unusual as my methods may seem they do generate results, which is what we are after,” Dres quipped back with a chuckled. Yes, by most people’s standards he was an odd duck, always had been. Even as a small child he was into things he shouldn’t have been, experimenting and in general doing things in a rather unconventional way. Never mind he had what most people considered an unhealthy fascination with Dark Arts. He did grin though when she said he was hardly being annoying, quite the opposite in fact. Well that was good.
Dresden shook his head in amusement when Lissianna bounded off ahead of him, stopping at the top of the hill. She gave her hand a wave and the professor arched a brow. So the shield wasn’t visible… that was standard as far as he knew. The whole purpose of a shield was to keep people out, so it made sense for it to be invisible. He walked up to her, eying the area in front of them with a critical eye. He then reached forward with his left hand. What an odd sensation. It was as if someone had just submerged his hand in something cold and altogether unpleasant. He pushed his arm in further in until the sensation was felt up to his elbow. As he did he could feel a slow static charge beginning to build.
It was about then that Lissianna went on to explain about the spell sequence to allow others to pass through her shield, and his attention wavered from what he was currently doing and focused more on what she was saying. So there was a sequence to allow someone to pass through? He furrowed his brow at her explanation his mind already trying to sort through the information she was giving him. The first incantation was to connect a person to the shield… ok, that was pretty standard. The second incantation however… if a person was already connected to the shield, why would they need to be granted access again? Was the shield able to differentiate between friend and foe? Or was there some other reason? If Lissianna was to take his hand with hers would it be enough for him to-
A rather strong burning sensation gripped the arm he had inside the shield and he only now noticed the static build up was an all time high. Uh-oh. He barely had time to react before he was hit with a massive jolt. He ripped his arm out of the shields range and spat out a few words that would have made any sailor proud. Merlin’s bushy beard that hurt! Dres shook his hand out vigorously as he tried to rid himself of the numbing tingly sensation that had worked its way up his arm. ”Bloody hell. Wouldn’t want to walk into that on a dark night,” he said with a chuckle as he glanced over to Lissianna. ”Ah, sorry about that. You mentioned something about a third incantation?”
