Evie took another sip from her Jack and Coke and looked at the clock on the wall of the bar. 9:10pm...He was late. Maybe he wasn't coming...didn't want to talk to her. She had sent her pet crow Poe with a letter for Julian..-Future Julian she supposed was more appropriate- saying that she wanted to meet with him. Give them both a chance to talk and lay things out like adults and she had given him a time and a place to meet...Some dive bar in Chicago at 9:00 her time. Evie would have asked him to come to the warehouse but she didn't know anything about Julian and even thou he was her son she wasn't going to jeopardize the mission because of a emotion. No...she picked a city far enough from Salem that she couldn't be traced back there. It made her feel horrible but...It was necessary.
She could practically hear Ian's voice in her head telling her 'I don't like this. Its not safe..its taking away from our mission...Use every precaution, don't bring him here' and anything and everything else he would say to her. It was funny how much he affected her life now. He was her partner in crime. Wanted to take down Trevor just as much as she did. He thought her a lot..not all that were great for her character but useful.
If it had been safe for her she would have gone to the UK for this meeting...Julian would probably feel more comfortable there and more likely to come but it wasn't safe. She was the dead 'Queen' someone could and probably would notice her and using a polly juice potion for this meeting felt like it would take away from the whole situation. She wanted to talk to her son as his mother, not as some stranger. Evie was nervous..she would be lying if she thought about backing out once or twice. What was going to happen? What would he say to her? The last time they meet they were both in shock and some things had been said but they weren't everything..at least not on her part. Evie wanted this meeting so there would be no distractions. No Casey, no Delilah...just her and Julian...if he showed.
Her nervousness was why she showed up early. She didn't realize that it was a muggle holiday and one of the busiest bar nights of the year..All well, at least they wouldn't be overheard. Evie arrived at the bar at 8:00pm and found a seat in a back corner, somewhere they wouldn't be bothered. As she sat there and the minutes ticked away she fought the urge to get a drink before he arrived. Didn't want to come off as drunk to him but..the waiting and butterflies in her stomach were killing her and she needed something to take the edge off. After a long internal debate she ordered herself a whiskey and coke and took small sips...it was better than nothing. But, now here she was, sitting the the bar...alone and looking at the clock and door every few seconds. He wasn't going to show...he didn't want to talk to her...she had no right to ask him to come here. She had done something horrible, had left him and faked her death. Why would he want to talk to her after all that? He wouldn't. Why had she thought this was a good idea? Stupid..how could she be so stupid? That was it..she should just finish this drink and drown away her sorrows. Evie was so caught up in her own self pity that she didn't notice someone walk in the door..
