Note: Summer and I have talked about redoing this for forever and a day, and since Casey has nowhere else to post at the moment and I need him to shut up in order to get to the other things I need to do, I’m writing this now. Since some of you have characters (or perhaps parents of characters?) who would have known Casey and Evie back in school, talk to one of us, and we'll discuss details and whether or not your character would have been invited.

An hour. That was all that was left before Casey would be beckoned to the end of the aisle to await Evie's arrival. He wasn't entirely certain how to feel about it. He was excited, yes, but he would be lying if he were to say he wasn't nervous. He was. Extremely so. This was a major decision, after all. It was a lifelong decision. And he was only eighteen and a half and Evie just under a month shy of being seventeen. But they were in love. He was sure of it, and that was all that mattered, right? Of course.
Casey looked down, tucking his chin as close to his neck as possible in an attempt to see what he was doing with the bow tie he had been fumbling with for the past few minutes. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't seem to steady his hands, and despite the fact he was dressed in all of his penguin suit but the jacket, he was still feeling cold. Nerves. How he hated them. They were such a foreign concept. He'd felt them last year during potions. Evie had been on the receiving end of his anxiety regarding the wellbeing of that grade, unfortunately, yet she'd still stuck it through no matter how frustrated she must have been with his ignoring her about a month or so out of the school year. He'd have to remember to thank her.
As he failed yet again to manage to make an even bow, he groaned only to hear the familiar laugh of his brother Chance, who was an usher in the wedding. He would be walking his mother down, and should the Price's show up, Evelyn would be on his other arm. He just hoped they didn't. He honestly did. He and Thomas didn't exactly see eye-to-eye. The strange man would seriously ruin everything. Both he and Evie would be tensed, expecting an, "I object!" on sight. Maybe that's what all the nerves were about. The Prices had not RSVPed as coming or not coming, so it was up in the air what to expect. Between that and his own father's disapproval, today was sure to bring up feelings of anxiety and dread, right? That had to be all it was.
"Need some help there, Case?" Casey glanced over at Chance warily. He would feel better if it was Jack or Chris who had asked that question. If things were left up to chance, he might have a bow like one might find on a holiday package. He shrugged.
"I'll get it," he said as nonchalantly as he could manage, though nonchalant seemingly was an impossibility today. His voice was shaking.
Chance stood from his seat on Fred's bed (or was it's George's?) and walked over, shaking his head. "Have to say, Case, you have more backbone than I ever thought you would. Standing up to Dad and marrying her anyway?" He let out an impressed whistle. "Didn't think you had it in you, but I'm proud, though I do think you're crazy. You've hardly lived! So many fish in the sea."
"Found mine, Chance," Casey said, raising his chin as his brother began to work on the blue-ish bow tie.
"I'm sure you have. Wish I could have your certainty."
"You'll have it one day." The groom smirked slightly. He never would have thought he'd have Chance envying him for something. He'd thought his brother was content enough with his version of playing the field, but he supposed that wasn't the case after all. "Think Mrs. Weasley's guarding the door?"
"The door...?"
"Yeah, to Ginny's room?"
"She'll beat you with a broom if she catches you, but look at you: more of a spine by the moment!" He clapped his brother on the shoulder. "All done." Casey smiled then looked at the full-length mirror. He tugged the silvery-blue waistcoat down and then looked to the side at his reflection. He looked rather nice, he thought. His hair was freshly trimmed just the way Evie liked it, he was freshly shaved, he had his penguin suit mostly on... Just needed the tuxedo jacket and he was golden, but he'd worry about that before going out to the Weasley's yard.
"Thanks, Chance."
"You're welcome, bro. Now, go see her. I can't stand seeing you like this. Makes even me nervous, and you know it takes a helluva lot to make me that way."
Casey snorted but headed for the door out of the twins' old room and then down the hall to Ginny's room where he knew the women were changing. He knocked then took a step back, clasping his hands nervously in front of him.
