Elliott rose a brow at Evie's question. She could have, if it wasn't priority at the time. Yes, retrieving the Order's own was always a nice thing, but sometimes it was an impossibility at a certain point or certain points at time. He'd suspect the newer members would view things the same way even if one member with more connection to the missing or taken person kept pulling for the person's retrieval. It was simply how things had to be done: however was most sensible. The bigger picture mattered more than one individual. Perhaps it wasn't the reality she liked to think of because it didn't allow her to villainize them the way she seemed to like to do or think them in worse condition than the original Order members had the organization, but it was reality. And things seemed a lot more messed up than they had back in the 70s. Voldemort hadn't been in charge even if he had been working desperately toward it. He thought it wise to keep his mouth shut, however.
"If the Order's really as bad off as you say, you can't be so sure he doesn't know what he's getting himself into. You had to have told him some plans, not just kept him in the dark. I know you're not stupid enough to do that when a resource is there to use." It was a possibility. Evie liked to downplay Casey, but how much of it was her lack of a proper memory, how much of it was what Trevor had influenced her to believe, and how much of it was based in fact? While she felt she knew him, shouldn't he be like a completely new person to her? She couldn't be sure, after all. But this was Evie he was thinking about here. She didn't always do what would make sense, and here, he couldn't blame her. After all, it had to be difficult for her to deal with all this. It had to be confusing and disheartening.
