Gideon straightened, flipped up his hood, and raised his wand.
This wasn't going to be easy. The fight hadn't been easy, but the guards had made a fatal mistake. They didn't try to heard Gideon back to the manor, instead they pushed him back, further and further towards the apperation line. Once he was close enough Gideon had turned and made a run from it and taken a curse to the leg and his shoulder. The moment he was over the line he apperated to safety, but the moment he'd landed his leg had fallen out from under him and Gideon had lost his footing and fallen. That was where the slice on his head had come from. It had taken a long time to limp back up to the castle. A house elf answered the door and the look Gideon gave him silenced any question they'd thought of asking.
He just wanted to fix himself up and go to bed. The night had been a long one, but at least it was over, or almost...
So off Gideon limped in the direction of the staff quarters, the only thing on his mind being bed. To bad he wasn't paying attention to his surrounding.[/blockquote]

In Gideon's opinion SAVIOUR in-tell should be re-named "rough bloody guess work". This was the the second mission in a row to to go tits up because re-con couldn't do their jobs.
As a result Gideon had a slice above his eyebrow, blood oozing down the side of his face from it, a limp from where he'd been been hit with some form of curse, and a rip from where a fire curse had grazed him. It was definitely going to quite a long night trying to fix himself up before sleep. He'd get perhaps 4, 5 hours of kip before classes and that was if he was lucky.
As beaten up as he was, Gideon could at least say the mission, in essence, had been a success. The two boys were free. The pair (Mica and Joshua) were only around 14 and 16. Life had been hard on the two boys but they'd bonding in such a difficult enviroment. They'd been approached by SAVIOUR months ago and offered help, but the elder Joshua already had one failed escape attempt under his belt and as a result had a tracking collar fitted. They refused to be split up, so SAVIOR had no choice but to back of and accept their wishes. That was how it worked. SAVIOUR was all about giving freedom, but through choice. If they refused help, then that was all part of their choice.
That had all changed with a panicked owl to the head quarters though. The Mica had been attacked by their master's friends after a drunken night. Gideon had supposed it was meant to be fairly harmless (if you could ever call it that) muggle baiting. The alcohol had caused it to escalate, and by the time Joshua had returned from his errand to the shops he'd found his younger friend tossed into the doorway of the slaves' quarters, unconcious. The letter had been scrawled on a piece of torn fabric.
"Please help. Mica is hurt. He needs medical attention and he may not make it through the night.
Send anyone, please.
Joshua, Starling manor.
Gideon had been dispatched only three hours after the boy sent the note. The information on the Starling manor was sketchy. Large Estate in on the Aberdeenshire, North of Scotland, minimal security. One adult male permanent resistance, one impermanent female. Assorted named death eaters frequent grounds. Slave quarters contained in an out house in grounds, unguarded.
Unguarded... What complete bollocks.
Gideon had arrived at the boy's side and had only had a few minutes to access the situation when they'd been interrupted by arrival of a guard. It had been a close call but Gideon had gotten to his wand first. After wiping out the last few hours of the guards memory and knocking him out, the professor knew he had little time left.
Gideon had warned the boys that the moment he removed the tracking collar and alarm would be sent to Joshua's master and they'd have to move quickly. Joshua picked up his younger friend and nodded. They were ready.
"The moment that collar is of you need to run. I know he's heavy, but you just need to be strong for a little bit longer. Head straight through the woods, my associate will be waiting out the other side. The safe word is "homestead", ask him for it. Ready?" Gideon had given the pair their instructions.
Joshua nodded.
It had taken a few minutes of working hard on the collar but finally the collar clattered to the floor.
"Now, go!"
Gideon straightened, flipped up his hood, and raised his wand.
