By the look on Lance's face, Lily's curfew, as he called it, had put a dent in his plans for this evening. Lily sighed and slumped slightly, feeling guilty. It wasn't her fault her guardian was an overly-controlling, abusive, madman! The sadistic bastard just loved not giving her a specific time to be home and then beating her senseless for "showing up whenever the hell she felt like it." That being the case, Lily tried as much as possible to be home at a time her sadistic uncle would approve of. "It's not really a curfew..." she said softly. "It's just easier to be home early enough that my uncle can't throw a fit about what time I come home..."
The petite brunette shrugged slightly and sipped at the wine their waiter placed in front of her, as a sudden thought struck her. In her past experience, Uncle Lionel was going to throw a fit and punish her no matter how early she was home. She could show up at five today and he would scream because they weren't ready for her to be home yet or some other ridiculous crap, so why bother? If she was going to be beaten either way, why should she screw up her plans and the plans Lance obviously had made for them? Sitting her glass down, Lily looked up at Lance with determination in her eyes and said, "You know what? Forget I mentioned it." The petite brunette smiled warmly and added, "I'd much rather spend the rest of the day with you than go home and be punished no matter what time I'm home. I'll deal with my uncle later." Hopefully he wouldn't be too heavy-handed, she added silently.
