Continued From: Wake Up
If the girl cooperated, the apparating would have gone smoothly. The scarred one had transported them inside to get some warmth, and a more comfortable atmosphere for a healing/conversation about the whole mess. They had reappeared inside, in a room that served as an infirmary. It was complete with a fireplace, several single beds lined up against the windows and on the opposite wall, then a handful of roll-away trays that helped with medical instruments or food trays for the ill and injured.
Kara gently placed the girl on one of the beds and instantly got to work. She figured that if she busied her mind, she wouldn't accidentally spit out a question without thinking, and she sure needed to mull things over before she just verbally attacked the girl. There was no room for error here. If Kara failed to use tact, maybe Nadia would shell up again and refuse to talk about it. If she came off as persistent and rude, maybe the girl wouldn't 'remember' some details. Still, she was given the benefit of the doubt, and Kara was going to help her in exchange for information on their leaders capture.
Reaching for her wand, Kara made a quick flick at the fireplace in the room and it quickly ignited in a bright orange flame, giving the room more heat. She turned heel immediately and with a swift swishing motion of her wand, opened several cabinets and pulled out different materials to try to get the girl patched up. A mortar and pestle, ingredients for a salve, bandages and a sling had all fallen onto the tray before her, and Kara turned quickly to push the roll-away toward the bed that had her patient on it.
She took a deep breath, remembered how to put together the anti-bacterial healing solution, and began mixing the ingredients in the mortal and pestle. As she ground the herbs together, she sighed so heavily, it echoed in the room. It was now so quiet, save the crackling of the fireplace and the new fire that was providing such sweet warmth, so now it was the time to think. What to say, what to say...
The bigger predicament was, where to begin...
