Evie poked her head through the open door to her and Trevor’s bed room and listened, hearing the rain like sound the water from the shower head caused as it hit the bottom of the tub. She waited a few more minutes before she went into the room, waiting to hear the sound of the shower curtain being pulled shut when Trevor got in. This was so exciting! It didn’t seem possible after the tragedy they had the first time she was pregnant but they were given another chance and it made her so happy. This time, this time nothing was going to happen to their baby, the Order would not take this from them again, Evie would make sure of it, and she was sure Trevor would do the same.
Poor Trevor, she knew that this had to of been hard on him, it was hard on her and she only remembered bits and pieces of what happened, but him? He remembered it all, not knowing if he was going to see her again, knowing that he had twin babies out there he might never get a chance to love, it was heartbreaking. That was why she was going through all this trouble to tell him. She wanted to do something special. Something he would remember for as long as he lived. Maybe she already gave him that the first time but she didn’t know, and it wasn’t like she could go up and ask him “hey honey, I was wondering how I told you I was pregnant the first time” No, because that would ruin the surprise. But this, her little plan was a bit over the top but it was worth it.
She gave it a few seconds before walking into the room and setting to work, sticking her hand into her pocket and pulling out two bags of pink and blue balloons with about 60 balloons in each. She gripped each side of the bag and pulled it open and dumped the balloons on the bed, taking out her wand and using that to magically inflate them all. About half of the balloons floated in the air while the other half littered the ground all around the bed. After that Evie went to their closet and pulled out the bags she had hidden in there by use of a disillusionment spell. Inside the bag was a bunch of baby clothes and a blanket, toys, bottles, diapers…the whole nine yards. She took out the baby blanket and folded it in half long ways and laid it across the bed, picking up the stuffed animals from the bag and placing them on top of the blanket, one of the bears holding a sign that said ‘I love my Daddy!' The rest of the things she put back in the bag and set back in the closet.
Now, for the last piece to her little puzzle, Evie went to her vanity and grabbed a tube of red lipstick, taking the lid off and twisting the container till the lipstick was out far enough for its purpose. She set the cap down and walked to the connecting bathroom door and put her ear to it to check and see if Trevor was still in the shower…He was. Carefully….ever so carefully Evie opened the door and slipped inside and stood in front of the mirror, taking her hand and wiping it over the surface to get rid of the steam. Once the surface was clear Evie used the red lipstick to write on the mirror.
With a big heart around it, she even put some lipstick on and kissed the mirror. Evie smiled at her little equation and glanced at the shower to make sure she wasn’t seen and she quietly left the bathroom to wait for him. Running down stairs as fast as she could to grab two champagne glasses and a bottle of sparkling apple cider and back up, setting the glasses and bottle down on the nightstand and waiting by the bed for Trevor to come out.
