Saturday October 17th
Evie opened the door to the leaky cauldron and stepped inside, she didn’t like this place very much, it was dark and bleak and the people that frequented here always gave her strange looks. But, as it was, the tavern was the crossing point between the magical world and the muggle world and Evie wanted to go out and explore the city a little bit. It seemed that all she did now-a-days was going shopping and spend her time out of the house. With Trevor always working and Layla was a secluded girl to begin with so she was left to dwell on her thoughts alone. No thank you. It made Evie feel like she was one of those wives that only lived to spend her husbands money. But, it wasn’t like she went out and splurged or it wasn’t like they didn’t have money to spare. Maybe she should look into getting herself a job but somehow it didn’t seem like it was ‘proper’ for the Queen to get a job with the rest of the commoners.
Ugh, that title bothered her, it wasn’t like she was a Queen anyway, Trevor wasn’t ‘King Trevor’ he was Lord but still, ugh, either way, it didn’t matter she didn’t like titles to begin with. Once she stepped inside Evie closed the door behind her and walked up to the bar , it wouldn’t kill her to get a drink before going out to London, it was cloudy and cold outside and looked like rain and she could use something to warm herself up. When she reached the aged and faded bar Evie ordered a hot tea and she fished out three sickles from her pocket and set them on the bar top while she waited for her tea.
The bar keep handed her a mug once the tea had steeped and Evie took it with a ‘thank you’ and turned around and went to sit down at a open table that was off in the corner and far away from the wandering eyes of the other patrons of the pub. Evie set her purse aside on the chair next to her and took off her jacket and set it over the back of her chair after setting down the mug and sitting down herself. She gingerly sipped at her tea and looked around, a few faces turned away once her eyes meet theirs and she sighed. Why did people always have to stare? It made her feel like she was some kind of exhibit at a zoo or something, there was never any kind of privacy in this life and she hated it. Evie brought her eyes back to the table and looked down, eyes following the strange groves in the table top as she twisted her mug around with her hand. Get used to it, Eves she said to herself while picking up the mug and taking another drink.
