She should probably wait till he got home to discuss this in private but it was business and business was discussed at the office and it gave Trevor time to think it over and cool down before coming home. Evie really had no idea how he would take this, Trevor could either agree with her or he could be completely against her and it start a huge argument between them but, it was something she had to do. Just because she was his wife didn’t mean she had to agree with everything he did, sure, she supported him but this crossed the line. Evie had lived with knowing about the slavery for a little over a year and she ignored it but ever since Trevor brought Grace home and she saw how bad she was treated with her last owner it broke her heart.
That was when it really hit her about how wrong this all really was; no one had a right to own someone else. People weren’t animals but Trevor’s followers treated them like they were and it had to stop. She would campaign to put an end to it if she had to even if it was against Trevor’s wishes. There couldn’t be any way that she could have supported this before she lost her memory, it wasn’t right. Merlin, it really did feel like she belonged with the Order at times and Evie was starting to feel so conflicted.
What was happening to her? Was she turning against Trevor? No, that was silly, she would never do that she just didn’t agree with everything he was doing that was all….It happens, no marriage ever has been so perfect that they agree on everything it just didn’t happen and it wasn’t normal. Arguing and disagreeing on things was healthy…dangerous at times but healthy all the same.
Evie entered the mansion and walked up the stairs to where Trevor’s office was. It wasn’t often that she came here, there really was no reason for her ever to come and Evie usually made a point to avoid the mansion since Natalya and Morgana frequented here a lot, especially since Natalya was Trevor’s secretary but it seemed that she wasn’t here today or just wasn’t around at the moment which was good. Who knows, maybe she was lurking around in the shadows but as long as she didn’t bother them Evie didn’t care.
She stopped in front of the big oak doors that served as the entrance to her husband’s office and knocked. He could be in a meeting with someone and Evie didn’t want to interrupt that with a ‘Trevor, we need to talk’ so it was best that she wait and see.
