7:50 a.m.
Quidditch practice had always been held at eight in the morning for as long as Lance had been on the team at the very latest, and on this day of the week, too. It was just how Ravenclaw operated: bright and early when everyone else would still likely be busy with the morning routine. Practices had just begun officially today, as try-outs had been the week prior. They only had a month to prepare the new recruits, however, with their first game being on 15 October against Hufflepuff. Gryffindor and Slytherin would have to make an even madder dash for their preparations with their first game together being in exactly ten days, but as far as he knew, their captain had cleared it with all the other three houses that this was still their day and time. Of course, their captain couldn't make it today, unfortunately, so there was no being sure, so potentially Gryffindor or Slytherin could come and try to steal the pitch away from them. The captain had come down with the flu or something after the rainfall they had weathered during the final day of try-outs. He had asked Lance to take charge, and he was. He'd made sure immediately that all his teammates were up (having to send a girl up to check on Kaitlyn and any other girls they might have on the team) and ready before heading for breakfast and eventually out to the pitch.
Now, he stood there with his broom firmly in hand as he looked towards the direction of the castle, looking first in the sky and then to the ground. After all, just because someone wasn't supposed to fly to practice didn't mean that everyone was necessarily going to listen. In a perfect world, they would, but this wasn't a perfect world. It was getting nearer to perfect as the days went by, but until everyone accepted and embraced their destiny and position in this world, it couldn't be. Because before then, there would be rumors and plots for assassinations and murders of people within this government in hopes of tearing it apart. They were gravely mistaken, however. The government officials weren't foolish enough to not have someone to replace them. But whatever. He digressed. There was no need for such thought so early in the morning.
So now, all he had to do was wait and wait and wait....
