Inside 'The Witch's Closet' on a side-street in Hogsmeade
It was three weeks before the Yule Ball and Lily still hadn't found a dress she was satisfied with. She had seen and tried on what felt like every dress in the whole world in the last few weeks, but she just hadn't found one she liked enough to buy it. She wanted to look good, no gorgeous, but all the dresses she had seen so far were just pretty, nothing special. She wanted something stunning, something that was both tasteful and sexy. She hadn't managed to find an acceptable date (mostly because her standards were far too high for school-aged boys), so she didn't have to worry about looking too sexy, or getting a dress that was too tasteful. Not that she wanted something slutty, of course not. But she did think she had an awesome body and she wanted to show it off. She had even found a potion that would hide the scars on her back so she could even wear a low-backed dress if she was so inclined.
Unfortunately, looking through the selection at The Witch's Closet, all Lily was inclined to do was leave. Their pitiful selection would never do, she thought as she searched through another rack of cheap-looking dresses. Curling her lip in disgust slightly, she picked up her coat from the rack she had left it on and put it on, heading for the front of the store and the exit. She had had enough mediocrity for one day, she decided. As she breezed by the clerk trying to get her to stay and shop in her store, Lily decided she would go to Gladrags Wizardwear and hope for the best. And if she couldn't find something there, then she would just ask her uncle to send her dress from the Winter Ball last year at Durmstrang to her. It's not like anyone here would know she had worn it last year, but still, she would save that as a very last resort, she resolved as she walked leisurely up the street.
