Well here it was, now or never. She had to do this stupid silly speech. She had to get up and talk to these students and set them up for the rest of their lives. She had to deliver the applications, field out the weak ones, do the aptitude tests and all because some bloke lower than her got sick. She sighed and put on a big smile and swept a bit of hair back into its place before rising up and walking with a swish of her hips to the podium. She put down her small stack of papers, made sure her wand and other defenses were secured and then gave the room her usual charming and slightly seductive smile. If she was being forced to do this she was going to do it her way. Something told her they would have more male recruits this term to weed through than ever before, but it wasn't her problem to directly pick through them, not today at least- just the ones for her department and she could do that at her will and leisure.
"Right then. I assume most of you know who I am, and for those who do not, my name is Morgana Calloway and I am the Press Secretary for the empire. My job is to edit and manage the press releases of the government so that you all get some information from us, or at least as much as we can offer." It was a bit arrogant but it was absolutely true. She knew it and she felt that most people knew it, but like the cattle they were, they did not care or chose to ignore the information. She released another amazingly blinding and pretty little white smile and waited a moment for it to transform into a smirk before continuing. "As Press Secretary it is true I have no jurisdiction in invading your school and making speeches like this to all of you. To the professors, she turned and nodded politely and stay turned for a good moment's measure as she spoke directly to them, "I do apologize for taking up your valuable time, you are doing a great service with your methods here at Hogwarts and you can never know how humbling it is to return here after so many years and see the process of transformation continue on through wars, change, and any other measure in its path. I thank you, the government thanks you, and I am sure someday, despite themselves, the children will thank you as I stand here thanking you now." She gave a slight bow and the briefest of sweet smiles to each of the present professors before quickly wiping her attention back to her mission here: the students.
"As for you lot, you are welcome, as those of you under the fourth year are to be released for a day of study time, which, as I remember from my youth often was used studying something else....several other things as I remember. The rest of you have an opportunity to apply with me to take an aptitude test starting immediately. I know it does not seem just that you have an opportunity to test and they have mandatory freedom but I am happy to say we only test volunteers. Your government does not want you if you do not want to be there. This is the official recruiting call. Any of you who inspire to greater things-government, invention, missions abroad, learning about things that could help us build the greatest empire, secrets beyond your wildest dreams: take the test and you have nothing to loose. As for the rest of you feel free to leave and I will see you in roughly two years time or less serving me my fish and chips in the Leaky Cauldron or taking my galleons for the latest designer Wicked Vichery Suit in one of the shops I go to- but as I said, completely voluntary this test...." She shot them all a devious smirk and looked at the professors nodding politely. "You are more then welcome to help administer the test if you wish, however it is not necessary as it can be proctored by one person if needed."
Feeling a bit too formal, a bit too much like the talking head she was at the current time, Morgana stepped out from behind the platform, magically amplified her voice in the calmest of manners and walked between the rows of students, the clicking of her black stiletto heels the only sound in the room as she made her way up and down the tables peering into the eyes of every student who dared to look into her own. Those were the ones she wanted. The ones who dared look her in the eye. She would break them or she would make them, perhaps both. They were the future and she was going to be the one molding them, herself and the other heads of departments. They were the future of the empire and they could not fathom the importance of this moment...it was frightening and exhilarating to say the least.
"Testing will begin in exactly ten minutes all of you who do not wish to participate should leave immediately," Quickly, as she did years ago in battle she turned on her heel and without a second of hesitation pointed her wand up against the door and set up a quick and simple one way lock. "This is a one way door now, if you exit you will have given up your opportunity for this testing period and will have to wait until next year if you are bellow seventh year, or not eligable at this time, or until we start civic testing which is a date which remains to be seen. The tests will be graded immediately after finishing and then we can start the interview process. For those of you who pass both of these rigors internships in offices who select you as well as paid internships in these offices will be available. These internships turn into job offers if you perform admirably and promotion is always an option no matter how young you are." She flashed the room one last smile and turned on her heel again heading back up to the podium and looking down at a simple little clock she had placed there along with her papers. "Your ten minutes to decide starts now...."
