"Hopefully I won't be the only Gryffindor at this ridiculously pointless affair," Eris muttered to herself as she finished drying off after her shower. Her mood hadn't been much improved by the steaming shower like it normally would have, but her unruly wavy hair would at least be manageable now. She sighed as she went into her bedroom and over to her, in her opinion, ridiculous dress. It was tacky and unrefined and totally unsuited to a New Year's ball, but what did she expect from a party themed 'vampires'? She supposed it was pretty, in a very costume-y, Halloween-appropriate way as she looked at the Victorian-style dress. The black lace and crimson silk would do she supposed, and the matching mask was beautiful... Slipping on the gown and arranging it just so, Eris admired herself in the mirror, experimentally arranging her hair. OK, so maybe it wasn't so bad after all, she admitted to herself. "At least I look good in it," Eris admitted ruefully, as she sat at her vanity and began pinning her hair up in a vaguely Victorian style. After doing her make-up in a traditional pale skin, lush red lips vampire style, and transfiguring her canine teeth into fangs, Eris tied on her mask and grabbed a cloak, apparating to the Val'Lauren mansion.
After a servant had taken her cloak and another had escorted her to the ballroom, Eris looked around disdainfully. The decor, while well-executed, was still tacky and annoying in her opinion, and the small contingent of non-sibling attendees, let alone fellow Gryffindors, was extremely disappointing. After exchanging pleasantries with the host, Eris made her way over to her brother, Adrian. Leaning in so as to conceal her scathing comments from the others around her, she muttered to Adrian, "Isn't this simply wonderful, brother? Who knew we would be privileged enough to spend our New Year's with vampires and the like?" She rolled her eyes behind her crimson mask and chuckled softly at her own remark.
(Forgot these yesterday =p)
