Feeling a satisfying slice from her target's leg, meaning she hit her mark, Cora stepped back to survey the damage. Frowning slightly because the gash wasn't the clean cut through the artery she wanted, the Dark Lady said apathetically, "Well, I suppose you'll have a slightly better chance of winning this game won't you?" Of course that chance had only increased from 'less than possible' to 'less than likely'... but that was beside the point. "Of course, I still don't intend to-" the hit-witch stopped mid-sentence as she heard a soft whistling above her, and looked up in time to see a woman drop down on top of her. The woman's weight drove them both to the cobbles, but not without a fight. Cora grappled with the blode and successfully pushed herself to her feet, squaring off with the newcomer, a look of purest fury making the Dark Lady's already-disturbing eyes seem almost luminescent.
"Well Johnny, looks like I'll be taking two bodies back to the Ministry as proof of death," the cruel witch spat viciously. Turning to the woman, Cora began to say something when she felt a sudden spell his her square-on, flinging her towards the wall behind her. Luckily, Cora had dealt with these types of 'defenses' before and reacted quickly enough with a counter-spell to gently bounce off the wall, landing nearly in her starting position. Unfortunately, this also meant her barrier spell had been broken, but there would be no escaping from her today. Fury and hatred coursed through the Dark Lady, making her as dangerous as a wounded asp.
Even before she landed, Cora was already readying one of her personal favorite spells, which would produce a gout of flame. "Fuego maximus!" the hit-witch cried, a gout of flame as wide as the alley spearing toward Jonathan and his would-be rescuer. Of course there was the possibility that the two idiots would dodge under the spear of fire hurtling toward them, but judging by the sudden scent of singed hair and flesh, she assumed she had hit at least one target. Laughing maniacally, Cora quickly put the fire out to avoid undue attention and stood at the ready facing her opponents, an evil fury obvious in her demeanor. "It would seem the 'rescuer' needs rescuing now as well," the Dark Lady cackled. "What a piss-poor showing indeed, Ms. Lenor, isn't it?" Another evil chilling laugh and Cora continued, "Oh yes. I know who you are, meddling fool. It's my job to know all about the scum of the earth. Your names, former jobs, families... you name it, I know it. You also have a brother too, I believe. Perhaps I'll even pay him a visit myself. I'm sure he would rather hear of his baby sister's death from a knowledgeable source..." she added with a sneer.
