((Note: This is open to Mandy. I'll post an OOC note once I get to the point where she can enter.
Order members, feel free to start a thread with your characters for an invading Death Eater or so to reply to--or DEs, verse visa. I'm just trying to get this going while I have muse for it.))

11:00 p.m.
The past month had been hell. He and Kara were still barely on speaking terms. Every meeting they both were present at got next to nowhere, and almost every member or potential member of the Order was unwilling to take sides. Of course, Damien being back had put a kink in things, too. This generation was used to looking to Noland as leader, not him, and it was more than frustrating, considering his past deeds were hardly known--huge ego killer there, naturally--and Noland here had no past with the Order, really had accomplished nothing, yet everyone followed his lead.
Then there was the matter of Julian. If it was even possible, his son's hatred towards him had only grown int he months he had been left here without him. So much for "Absence makes the heart grow fonder," though he was almost certain news of his mother's death hadn't helped any. Now "Daddy Dearest" was even more of a failure in his son's eyes. So much for the naive hopes and plans he'd had for his son, for their relationship, when he had first been born. So much for Evie saying what a great father he'd make, had made once they had had children.
Life was fan-fucking-tastic! Not.
Casey kicked a rock towards the hedge maze only feet away from him, about to turn around and head back to the large fountain located in the center of the main gardens, but the feeling of something small hitting him with force in the back of his canvas shoe caused him to pause. "Who's there?" he asked, turning around and squinting to see into the darkness of the hedges the moon failed to light. Seeing and hearing nothing, Casey stepped forward with his right foot so his body weight was more evenly distributed. "Look, Kara, if it's you, I'm tired of this game." Shoes shuffling in the pebble-lined path and the sound of a robe fluttering caused Casey to draw his wand. "Lumos," he stated, and the tip lit, revealing a seemingly panicked-looking redhead. "Nadia?"
The known shy-girl seemed to relax slightly, though there was still a certain amount of tension remaining, something the man interpreted as normal. After all, she'd seen him at meetings recently and had witnessed some of his less spectacular moments outside of them.
The girl nodded, brushing some of her hair behind her ear. Her eyes darted to the Corporum building, her nearest safe haven. "I... I didn't mean to startle you," she apologized quietly.
"Don't worry about it," Casey replied. "Couldn't sleep?"
"You know me," she replied with a half-hearted smile. "Just worrying about me mam again."
Casey nodded. It wasn't unusual for him to run into her during his late-night strolls. He was quiet for a few moments before offering, "How about we go inside? I'll make us tea, and we could talk--or sit there like bumps on a log, if you'd rather."
Nadia smiled and made a quiet noise Casey could only assume was a laugh. "I'd l ike that, Casey."
Casey offered a smile before offering his arm. "Shall we?"
With a girlish look, Nadia took his arm. "We shall." As the two began walking, she glanced over her shoulder. Phase one complete.
