And just like that, the man shape was back. Gemma gasped, dropping the man's arm (the bit of him she was left holding) instinctively, not even caring when he shoved himself away from her and got up, turning his back to her. Her wand was back in her hand in an instant, and she likewise jumped to her feet, leveling it at his back.
"First off, fuck you! Secondly, go fuck yerself. Thirdly, put a robe on or something. I hate feeling like I'm a perv when I'm not. And fourth, rats are practically blind and I couldn't see where I was going earlier, so shut it."
The rant took Gemma by surprise, but a few seconds later she found herself laughing, though she wasn't even sure why.
"Excuses, excuses," she snarled, but she stepped around him to her dresser, yanking open a drawer so hard that it came out of its rollers and fell to the floor. She skipped back at the last second so that it missed her toes, then best down and grabbed her robe from among the mass of now-unfolded clothes. She draped it awkwardly around her shoulders with one arm, but it didn't do much to cover her any more than her nightgown did: it was light-weight fabric, likewise silk, and only came to about her knees.
"There. Is that better for your over-sensitive eyes, Rat?" she asked, her tone falsely sweet, "Or should I say under-sensitive? Is that more in keeping with your cover story? Hmm?" The nasty words flowed off her tongue with no check put to them; she was furious, and she wasn't about to limit herself for a stranger who had taken advantage of her in the form of a cuddly animal. That thought jarred something in her memory, and she stepped closer, keeping her wand between them.
"What are you doing at Hogwarts, anyway? Mix-up in the pet store? Or was it intentional?" She tilted her head slightly to one side, her logical, curious side momentarily coming to the fore instead of her fury. "If you tell me the truth, I'll consider letting you go," she added after a few seconds, her tone much softer, something within her having melted slightly. If this man wasn't intending harm, as he was suggesting, then she had been overly hard on him. But until that was proven.... Until that was proven, he was staying under her wand, at her mercy.
