"Chief done caught himself a red fox, Maisie-daisy, thats why he ain't up yet. And be nice to Catrin, eh? Since that shipment is coming in, git, and make space for it in the storeroom. Go on, git! We'll be up in a few."
"Aww..." The little girl dragged her feet as she headed back towards the stairs; even in the dark, Catrin could tell she was pouting. "You're no fun, Chief... A' least she's a right hottie, though!" A light cackle of laughter left the girl before she sprinted up the stairs, apparently for all she was worth.
Catrin stared after her for several seconds, before looking back down at Cedric, her expression, as it rarely was, utterly confused. She followed Cedric's movements of rolling them over and moving to the edge of the bed with ease, but when he picked her up as he stood up, she stiffened slightly, her green eyes going wide. It still weirded her out how easily Cedric could pick her up... how strong he was...
"Let us find clothes, and then go sup on the finest of pancakes that we may then entertain thoughts of the rest of the day. Or some manner of bullshit like that. Sound good?"
"Damn, I love you, Ced," Catrin answered without thinking, then suddenly realized what she'd said and how it might be taken. "Uh... not... not like that... I mean, we just met and all and... yeah. Um. Turn of phrase, ya know..." She ran her hand awkwardly through her hair, not looking Cedric in the face. How could she, after saying something stupid like that? She didn't love him, not like that... she just... what? What did she do? What did she... feel?
No.
She wasn't going there.
Time to change the subject, before she thought about how much she was enjoying being with Cedric...
NO!
"Here, help me find my stuff," she muttered hurriedly, trying to pull away so she could locate her bra and underwear, "Can't see shit down here..."
