[no worries on it being short ^_^]
Andrew waved his hand at her with a teasing smile.
"Oh, 'prestigious!' Please! I find more enjoyment from the work than I do from the recognition."
He held the smile as he thought back on the varying papers and contributions that had gotten him such a silly title as prestigious in the first place. When one threw themselves wholeheartedly in their work, they were going to get noticed. He couldn't agree or disagree with the standard. In fact, he could quite care less about the whole load of twaddle. What the industry needed, what all industry needed really, was a good, swift kick in the-
"So what brings you to Diagon Alley on a weekday? Surely, you have classes on a Wednesday."
Her voice interrupted his self rightous reverie and he found himself a bit at odds with how to explain his position. Surely, she of all people would understand the call to research, but he didn't want his new friend to look down on him for abandoning his post, however temporarily. A faint blush colored his cheecks as he worked out the exact phrasing in his head. Honestly, how many researchers got to go into a lava tube ecosystem to study the rare plants inside of it?
