BENJAMINWILLIAM TURNER
28 (in may). Member of the former Order of the Phoenix. Fugitive. Former Gryffindor.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
ALIAS(ES): Benjamin, of course, shortens into the nickname Ben. He’s used aliases as a fugitive, but never anything consistent.
BIRTHDAY: May 21st, 1984
BIRTHPLACE: Helston, England
CURRENT: On the run. Has a few locations he frequents, but remains careful not to stay in one place for long.
FAMILY:
• Mother: Laura Turner, aged 61. ¾-blooded status. Fugitive.
• Father: Claus Turner, aged 63. Pureblooded status. Fugitive.
• Sibling: Daniel Turner, aged 35. 7/8-blooded status. Fugitive.
BLOOD: 7/8ths pure.
ORIENTATION: Bicurious.
WAND: 14” Elm, Dragon Heartstring Core
DESCRIPTION: Ben stands at 5’10” and weighs around 168 pounds. His hair is brown, short, and unkempt. He has matching brown eyes. He is relatively unmarked, save for a few scrapes and scars from his time playing Quidditch.
PLAY-BY: Adam Brody.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
PATRONUS: Ben’s patronus is the same as his animagus: a smally, whispy gecko.
BOGGART: Ben dislikes the feeling of being trapped and confined. He needs free space to roam and thus can get claustrophobic at times.
MIRROR OF ERISED: Ben’s desire in life is to stand out and outshine people such as his older brother, but in his own way. He wants to do something of purpose with his life.
HABITS: Ben has the habit of getting extremely cocky whenever he’s nervous. He always hides the fact that he’s nervous whenever it arises.
PET PEEVE: The one thing that Ben absolutely cannot stand is being treated like a child. It bothers him when he is told he can’t or shouldn’t do things in his own way, and he strives to set out and prove to others he is capable.
STRENGTHS:
• Confident. Ben’s attitude toward challenging situations is one of cool confidence. It allows him to take on certain tasks others might not do or find too dangerous. He is sure of himself and optimistic in his abilities, which can sometimes give him an edge over other more hesitant people.
• Physically fit. Due to a constant need for physical activity, Ben is in good shape. He needed it during his days as a Quidditch player, but still continues to keep in shape. He has excellent stamina, speed, and tone.
• Spying. This nice little talent is primarily due to his animagus form: a gecko. This allows him to climb on even smooth vertical surfaces. His small size generally conceals the fact that he’s there, allowing him fairly good access to spy on other people.
• Defensive Magic. Defense against the Dark Arts was easily Ben’s best subject back in school. He is pretty adept at casting and defending against magical attacks. He had been considering becoming an auror before the takeover by Williams.
WEAKNESSES:
• Cocky. Ben’s confidence can sometimes go too far and lead him into things he just isn’t physically capable of doing. It’s not necessarily pure arrogance, but more that he’s overly optimistic and confident in himself. There are just some things he cannot do well.
• Never Serious. Ben treats life as if it were one big game to be enjoyed and won. This can be a drawback in interpersonal situations, as his attitude can easily rub people the wrong way.
• Reckless. Ben’s bold and impetuous attitude can easily be taken too far, and he often places himself in potentially destructive situations.
TRAITS:
Ben has a very strong and forward personality. He’s very bold and isn’t afraid to speak out or do what others fear to do. He enjoys the highs he gets off of adrenaline from dangerous or exciting situations. He’s a very optimistic person, and is almost happy-go-lucky. Unfortunately, his confidence can take him just a bit too far at times, leading to an attitude of cockiness in certain situations. It also leads to a bit of recklessness on his part.
Ben dislikes depressing or serious situations and never behaves as such. Thus he never takes things seriously, which is a real turn-off for many people. He treats everything in life as though it were a game and tries to live life to the fullest. He’s a kind and fun person, and, when the mood is light, can be enjoyable to be around. He’s got a real stubborn streak to him, though. He hates being told what to do and rarely listens or even does the opposite of what he’s told out of spite. He completely detests being treated like a child, despite sometimes behaving like one. Even still, he just likes to be himself and likes doing things that make him feel like an individual and his own person.

HISTORY:
Benjamin Turner was born on one particularly bright and sunny day in May. He was born into a rather close family. Aside from his parents, he had one older brother, Dan. Dan was eight years older than he was but that didn’t stop him from looking up to him and admiring him in the way that a kid brother does. Ben had always wanted to hang out with his brother, sometimes to the dismay and annoyance of Dan. When Dan entered Hogwarts, Ben was slightly sad and lonely but he couldn’t wait for his own time to enter school. To distract him, his parents would take him to the beach over the weekends. They lived a very short distance from the Atlantic, and swimming was one of the very first activities Ben came to love. He would always test himself to see how far he could swim out before he had to turn back or his parents yelled at him. Ben was very adventurous at heart and was often getting into some sort of trouble or another.
By the time Ben finally did enter Hogwarts, Dan had already been out for a year. He didn’t let it dishearten him though, and he was determined to make the most out of his time at school. He was quickly sorted into Gryffindor where he proceeded to make many friends. Unfortunately, his very first year was the famed Harry Potter’s fifth and was a time when Voldemort had come back into power. Ben was too young at the time to know anything more than that Voldemort was “the bad guy”. His brother had joined the Order of the Phoenix by this time, though he shared little to nothing about it with his family. The thought that his brother was off fighting and resisting Voldemort enthralled him. Ben couldn’t wait until he could join the fight too. Harry Potter managed to defeat the Dark Lord in Ben's third year, however.
The years at Hogwarts were long, but Ben still enjoyed them. He did well in Defense against the Dark Arts, but had a small disliking for potions, since the subject kind of bored him. During his fourth year at Hogwarts he joined the Quidditch team as a seeker. He loved the feeling of flying, the thrill of the game. It was one of his favorite things to do at the school.
During his sixth year at Hogwarts, Voldemort had been resurrected once more. Ben greatly wanted to join his brother and the Order this time, but they all said he was too young, which greatly annoyed him. He became frustrated with being stuck at school and yearned to finally be done with the place. He wanted to prove himself to everyone and show them just how wrong they really were. Unfortunately Voldemort was defeated once more before he would ever even get a chance.
After he graduated, Ben was finally allowed to join the Order. This was in part due to the fact that there was little to no Death Eater activity by this point in time. There would thusly be little actual Order activity throughout the following years, much to Ben’s dismay. By this point in time, Ben’s parents were urging him to try and find a career. He’d thought about maybe continuing on with Quidditch or maybe even become an auror. Not yet ready to settle down, however, he decided to travel for a few years.
He went to America for a while, where he got caught up in the sport of Quadpot. It was… different to say the least. After a while he decided to visit Australia, where he once again got caught up in sports. He joined a small free lance Quidditch team that traveled the country. One of his friends on the team, Chad Bannister, was an animagus lion. He was the symbol/mascot of the team and was fairly impressive in form. Excited about the possibility of being able to turn into an animal, Ben got Chad to train him into becoming an animagus as well. It took nearly a year of work (and Quidditch) for him to finally complete it and become the not-nearly-as-impressive… common house gecko. At first he was disappointed in what he turned into, but eventually he came to love it. It enabled him to climb just about any surface and gave him the ability to sneak up on people.
Eventually, Ben got homesick and decided to return back to his native country. He’d been out traveling nearly five years now, and he missed his parents and brother. He decided it was finally time for him to settle down and start a career. To celebrate the occasion he adopted a small pet Chihuahua named Zippy. Having grown tired of Quidditch over the past years, he decided he would train to become an Auror. He did a few odd jobs in the meantime, as he applied for the training. It was at this time however that the Death Eater attack on Hogwarts, the Ministry, and the Order occurred. Ben was upset to find out that he was apparently not important enough to warrant a Death Eater attack. Thankfully his brother and his wife had not been home at the time. The two of them had come home to find their place in shambles, however.
Unfortunately the Order was left in fragments. Ben was ready to get out there and take out some Death Eaters, but he lacked the proper organization to do so. He quickly joined up, along with his brother, into the new Order formed by Kyle Camden and Damien Noland.
Sadly the takeover came too swiftly for the new Order to stop. People were being enslaved left and right, and all who spoke out were gathered up. Ben was prominent in helping to save these people and get them to the safehouse. Ben’s brother and parents were also forced to move into the safehouse (along with Zippy in case you were wondering). Ben, however, only stayed at the safehouse on occasion. He usually stayed in a small cottage by the English Channel that once belonged to his grandparents. He was out there “fighting the good fight”. Mostly he tried to find Imperium Guards and neutralize them, even if it was just temporary. He hadn't done much other than annoy the Death Eaters, but that was because he’d been waiting for a plan of some sort. The Order didn't let him in on much, though, because they were afraid that he was too foolish and would get captured. This irritated him quite a lot, but it didn't stop him. Sure he’d had a few run-ins and close calls, but there was no way they could ever catch him in his mind.
When Damien Noland got captured by the Death Eaters, Ben was one of the few to actually try and do something about it. He spied upon the Imperium Guard to find out that Damien was merely being held at Azkaban. Along with Kara Viridian and Elena Denton, they formed a cunning plan to cause a revolt at Azkaban that would free not only Damien, but a whole hoard of others who would then hopefully join their cause. Sadly, the plan never came to fruition and nothing happened as yet more time went by.
Ben took matters into his own hands yet again, and followed through with his part of the plan. He sneaked into Azkaban frequently in his animagus form and learned Damien's location as well as the layout of the prison. On the day of Damien's execution (which Ben had learned was a farse), he set off a distraction at the execution and began his breakout attempt of Damien. Along with the help of another inmate whom Damien had become acquainted with, Colin McNally, Ben managed to sneak both Damien and Colin out with the use of some crafty tranfiguration. To hide the fact that they had escaped, Colin had helped Ben to stage a scene where it appeared as though the two prisoners had assisted each other in committing suicide together. It was probably all for nothing, however, since the three of them (plus another, Miranda Sweeting, who they broke out for their cause) had to fight their way out of the prison. Still, at least he had freed the Order's leader.
After freeing Damien, Ben had been attempting to nurse him back into spirit at the safehouse with little success. He had basically been doing everything Damien should have been doing himself as their leader while pretending it was Damien doing it. He didn't know what to do with their broken leader, and his patience for running the Order himself ran thin. Luckily, though, an official meeting had been finally called together and it even managed to bring Damien out to join. Even still, bickering and fighting caused the meeting and perhaps the whole Order to collapse. Frustrated, Ben took to his old habits of spying and neutralizing Death Eaters whenever he could. He frequently visits the safehouse, yearning for some sort of plan or organization, but nothing comes of it. He has become increasingly frustrated with this fact and needs some sort of plan of action. He needs to do something, but what?
