The letter is sealed in a white envelope charmed only to open to its intended recipient. A red wax seal with the official government crest is located where the seams meet. The handwriting is measured and cramped rather than flowing as it might usually have been. The envelope reads, "To: Captain von Wolfram."

Captain von Wolfram,
Please accept Rika Lefcourt's help in your investigation. As she managed to find evidence regarding my daughters' disappearance that your guard missed and murders have continued even with your presence, it is clear your guard is doing little more than sitting pretty. Your guard has yet to mention even finding any rat food in Katya's bedroom over the past two weeks since Miss Lefcourt found the evidence, which leads me to believe she will be a great asset in expediting both investigations if you do not hold back.
During the day, Miss Lefcourt will be busy during allotted times to teach transfiguration to the students. I will leave it up to her judgment to dictate when it would be appropriate for the two of you to discuss the the investigations. I will ask her to report back to me via fire call. I ask the same of you each evening (or at least every other) from here on out. I leave my office no earlier than 9 p.m. most evenings these days. Monday morning will be the time to reach me regarding the weekend's events.
I expect these two matters to be resolved soon. At the very least, we need the murderer caught and imprisoned. The students have returned to school today, and parents are panicked. I need them to rest assured their children are not better off at Durmstrang.
I can assure you your country will not forget your valor and bravery should you succeed nor will they forget should you fail.
Lord Williams
