That one kiss had not been enough, not after so long. Trevor had forgotten the sweet taste of her pink lips, the sweet smell of her perfume, the warmth of her breath against him, even the faint smell of her detergent she cleaned her clothing with. He wanted to kiss Morgana again, to savor every moment, to have her as his once more, to stake his claim on her and make her his and only his, mess with her so that no other man would seem anywhere near as gentle yet nowhere near as satisfying as he. He wanted her to go mad for him, just as he was feeling to whatever extent at the moment. Honestly, the reintroduction of something so innocent as the feeling of her skin, her hand against his face had almost been enough to drive him mad, but give him this? Give him this kiss?
Yet despite the madness he slowly felt taking over him, he had still uttered his apology. Part of him had hoped for her to feel the same need as he and at least kiss him again. Making out wasn't too much to ask, was it? But no, he couldn't be pushy. He couldn't be demanding, and besides, as he stared at those lips of hers, they started to move and words came out. She may as well have said the first few words in a foreign language, for they were Greek to him! Still, he caught on. She was saying that it would be perfect in nine months' time. Merlin, he hoped so. He hoped that that she would be enough. She should have been enough for him before, yet look at what he'd gone and done!
What if another of his personal, real life versions of Helen of Troy came around? What if he forgot himself for just one moment? What if some pretty face in a skirt came around that he felt he could talk to that also reminded him of Anna just as Evie had? What if he developed that same bond with her? What if he betrayed Morgana again? He wasn't sure if he could deal with monogamy. He had for six months thus far and from the looks of things would have to for about nine more months. Surely he could deal with it 'til he or Morgana died, right? Yet still, the prospect was a little harrowing. Could he remain faithful to Morgana? Perhaps. After all, he had only betrayed Evie for those few months because she wouldn't sleep with him. As long as Morgana sated him, he'd have no reason to wander to another's bed, right?
Of course.
He could do this. He would do this. Everything would work out just as she predicted: perfectly. They'd have it all back along with everything they'd ever wanted, just like Morgana had said. He smiled wistfully as he leaned closer to her face. "Everything," he confirmed, his voice barely more than a whisper. "Everything," he purred as he brought his lips to hers again, kissing her. It was just a kiss. There was nothing wrong with a kiss. Nothing at all. They deserved something so simplistic after so long. He wouldn't push for more. He just wanted to hold her and kiss her and feel like he had a part of the old them back, enough to reassure him that he was doing the right thing.
