Lance couldn't remember the last time he'd felt this content and relaxed nor did he care to. Right now all he wanted to think about was the beautiful girl cradled in his arms with her head resting on his chest and arm around his middle. He smiled as he let his head turn to the side as he lifted it to look at her before letting it fall back on the pillow as he closed his eyes, the fingers of his right hand stroking her arm absently. He shifted his right arm slightly so it was more under her neck rather than her shoulders, his left hand letting go of her upper left arm and resting over his stomach and chest.
He inhaled slowly and released it, his left hand searching for her hand and lacing his fingers through hers, his hand on top of the top of her hand. He lifted his head again, giving her a kiss on the lips if she tilted her face up towards his. "You make me so happy," he told her before resting his head back comfortably again. This had to be the best afternoon in his life since finding out her uncle abused her, and he hoped she thought it to be such, too.
After a few moments of silence had ensued, Lance decided to speak again. "So, was any of that the surprise, hmm?" he asked, keeping his eyes on the ceiling unless she lifted herself to look at him. He'd be quite content if this was the surprise she'd hinted at, but hey, it was only normal to want to know, wasn't it?
For the first time in a long time, Lily was happy. Of course she was always happy when she was with Lance, but that was beside the point. She couldn't think of a better way to spend an afternoon than where she was now: laying in bed with the man she lo- cared about, dozing contentedly. She sighed happily as he stroked her, returning his kiss and snuggling in closer to him.
'You make me so happy...'
She couldn't help but blush at his statement, no matter how true it was and regardless of how much she reciprocated it. In her mind, that was dangerously close to 'i love you', and she wasn't sure she was ready for that big of a leap right now. Of course, she felt just the same toward him, but if she told him that would it scare him off? After all, he had been quite the womanizer in school; maybe this was just a longer fling that he usually had, for all she knew. Even as the thought crossed her mind she knew it wasn't true, that Lance did really care about her, but pushed her own emotions and common sense roughly down and chose to simply respond with, "I'm glad..."
When he spoke again a few minutes later, she smirked slightly and raised herself up to kiss him. Pulling away from the lingering kiss after a few moments, she replied cryptically, her tone still playful and slightly husky, "I'm pretty sure you enjoyed it, even if it wasn't. No... you'll probably want to get dressed before I bring your surprise out," she added, slipping out of his arms and off the bed gracefully. Padding across the room to grab her robe, she put the short silk kimono-style robe on and tied it loosely, turning to face him again, gauging his reaction.

Lance smirked when she said she was sure he enjoyed it. Indeed he had, and he hoped she had, too. When Lily said he might want to dress before she brought out his surprise, he was...well, surprised. "But clothes are so counterproductive," he protested, but when she proceeded to go across the room and put on her robe, he went ahead and stood, searching for his pants and underwear in the pile of clothing beside the bed. Once he found them, he put them on, not bothering with the shirt for now. If she was wearing a robe, he could go shirtless, surely.
Once he had that on, Lance plopped back down on the bed, his back against the headboard. "So, what's my surprise?" He had absolutely no ideas now. He'd assumed the surprise had something to do that would involve them between the sheets, naked and sweaty, not them in relatively scant clothing. Then again, it still could....if she was the adventurous sort and wanted to try somewhere else? Yes, "one-tracked" certainly described him well right now.

Felix, taking his cue to cause a stir, slithered from the stone laying nearby and stretched with a smirk, "I believe that I am that surprise, dear boy. Not quite what you were expecting was it?"
Felix laughed, finding himself quite hilarious, and floated about the room, scrutinizing the boy Lily had brought. He was an interesting one and he admitted that it was always nice to put a face to names, though in the past that meant they were about to be added to his body count. Tragically, Felix was no longer capable of such things, so he would have to settle for acting as a cold shower for the poor bot before him.
"I will say that you two put on a good show, but i was rather disappointed at the lack of numbers and mess. Times seem to have changed from my blood orgy days, but then again i'm fairly certain I was the only one acting of my own accord in those situations." Felix let out an insane cackle.
Lily rolled her eyes at Felix's obviously-timed entrance and watched him circle Lance. She was wary of having the crazed specter that close to her boyfriend like that, but as far as she knew Felix still hadn't figured out the trick of possession, so she wasn't too worried. Once he learned that trick though... that would be another story entirely. "Nobody needs to hear about your sexual deviancy, Felix. Are you trying to make him sick?" she bantered with the former Death Eater. "If you succeed, I'm dropping your rock in it, just so you know."
Turning back to her stunned-looking boyfriend, the former Ravenclaw smiled reassuringly and said, "Darling, this is Felix Meyers, or what's left of him anyway. Felix, this is Lance Ulrich; and you will be nice to him," she added sternly, hoping to curb any urges the ghost had to scare Lance. "He's harmless, for the most part, just annoying most of the time. He's been helping me with a plan to be rid of Uncle Lionel. The crazy bastard's kind of adopted me," she finished with a wry smile. After a few moments of awkward silence, Lily sighed and added, a little defeated, "Aaaand you still look like you think I'm as crazy as he is. Wonderful..."

What the--? Was all Lance could think as a ghost came floating in and began to address him. Not the surprise he was expecting? Certainly it wasn't. Who would expect his girlfriend to have a pet ghost who, as he was beginning to realize as the ghost spoke on, was apparently a peeping tom. Great, she now lived with a physically abusive uncle and a peeping tom and sexual deviant. He didn't see how the situation could possibly get worse for her, but at this rate, he was beginning to think perhaps Lily would manage to find it without even trying to. At least the ghost couldn't plow into her against her will as seemed to have been his thing during life. She really attracted winners, didn't she?
Still, he had to trust her despite his apprehension. Never mind the mental images he was having right now of... Well, never mind. He didn't want to think of her doing such things at the moment. That was something best imagined (well, minus Felix watching) when they were again supposedly alone, assuming this ghost would ever leave. He doubted he would.
"....Are you trying to make him sick?" Lily asked, and Lance nodded.
"Yes, yes, I think he is. Who is this lunatic, Lily?" he asked despite the fact Lily was in the middle of threatening the ghost regarding his rock--whatever that meant. Maybe he didn't want to know. Thankfully, Lily didn't elaborate on her threat and began to introduce this ghost, this Felix Meyers, who was somehow helping her plan to be rid of her uncle. Perhaps he could see why she would want a clinically insane ghost with a deviant mind to help her get rid of an abusive uncle, but it was still a far stretch of the imagination. What could he help her do, really, in the long run? He couldn't strike her uncle, couldn't help her in a confrontation. He, Lance, could. But he supposed being sore about the fact she had confided in a ghost before him wasn't wise right now.
After Lily finished, Lance stared at her a few moments. Yes, he thought she was crazy, but he had to trust her. "I just don't see how an insane ghost can help do more than bounce ideas off you. I mean, he is insane--and sick. You know that, right?"

Felix stroked his non-existent chin at Lily's introduction. 'Lance Ulrich' she had called him. The name sounded vaguely familiar, but it was a matter, Felix decided, that was ultimately not worth pursuing. What was worth going after, however, was the fact that this boy had never heard of him and that just wouldn't do.
He feigned a look of being insulted, "Why, I am rather insulted dear boy. Not about the insane part, because that is quite accurate, but it seems that your parents have neglected to regale you with the tales of Felix Meyers." he gave a theatrical bow, "I will assume that your parents would be Death Eaters and I know for a fact that I left quite an impression on any who had the honor of meeting or even hearing about me. As for my usefulness in this little venture of underhanded dealings, dear Lily's uncle had the... pleasure of meeting me on a few occasions. All of which i'm sure he would like to forget. I may lack the earthly abilities to perform the deeds I used to love, but let me just say that i have more than a few tricks up my transparent sleeves."

"You know what they say about assuming," Lance muttered under his breath when the ghost said he assumed his parents were Death Eaters. Hardly. His father was a Ministry worker and quite obviously shared the views of the current regime, but he was hardly a Death Eater. As for his mother? She would have been appalled to be associated with such "monsters" as she called them. She would have been highly disappointed to hear her son had decided to join the likes of them. But never mind that now. The ghost's ramblings about how scary he'd been to Death Eaters were vaguely more interesting than thinking about his enslaved mother, whom he'd not seen in years now.
"So, he was scared of you?" Lance said after the ghost finished. "You're a ghost now. How do you expect that fear to stay intact? Maybe if you'd quit being so vague and reveal some of these tricks, I could understand." What was he going to have to do? Start asking around ranks about this man? It was seeming that way with the way unless the ghost decided to finally say something useful.
"Oh for Merlin's sake..." Lily sighed under her breath. Well, this was just going wonderfully, wasn't it? They weren't even trying to be cooperative, and it was really quite irritating, the brunette decided. Stepping between the boys (regardless of the fact that one was a ghost), eyes flashing, Lily took up the timeless finger-in-face, scolding stance and faced Felix. "You, stop trying to bait him. You weren't watching us and you don't peep at me. Apologize and behave yourself." Flipping around, she took up the same position and addressed Lance. "And you, just relax. I know this is a bit strange, but give me a chance to explain the situation and it won't be." Stepping back so she could address both of them she added wryly, "Now, can I trust you both to relax and behave yourselves?"
Satisfied, Lily sighed and spoke to Lance. "I know this is weird, but it's not as crazy as you think. After winter break, Felix approached me for a mutually beneficial arrangement. Apparently he recognized me from my resemblance to my mother, but he'd have to explain why he chose me because I'm still not sure of that myself. Anyway, he was killed under mysterious circumstances, he thinks by another Death Eater, and he wanted someone to help him figure out who it was. In return, he offered whatever help he could in any favor I asked. Since I can't exactly search my uncle's rooms myself or listen in on his conversations, I've been using Felix to do what I can't. He's been a big help so far, even if he is more than slightly crazy." Giving Lance a chance to digest what she had just told him, Lily sat down on the edge of the bed and watched the boys. Hopefully Lance wouldn't think she was so crazy now that she had explained a bit. Hopefully.
