Moments after Addison entered, the sound of a bell echoed through the classroom, startling several of the students into silence. The second toll of the bell, which wound up also being the last, was actually the rather more surprising one for most people, for at the exact same moment that it sounded the dog at the front of the room raised its head and looked over its shoulder at the class, revealing two things. First off, by its movement in exact time with the bell, it was obvious that it hadn't actually been asleep. Secondly, it was now obvious to all that it wasn't a dog but, in fact, a wolf.
Slowly, the black wolf got to its feet and began to stalk throughout the class, trotting between the rows of desks and bringing the rest of the students into silence. It paused beside DC and sniffed at his shoe, then took hold of his shoelace and tugged on it, untying the boy's shoe. This elicited several hesitant giggles. Next, it paused by Nikki, putting its paws up on her desk and sniffing at her notebook. A few more giggles could be heard as the pages of the notebook rustled under their heavy sniffing treatment.
On the way back up to the front of the room, the wolf stopped beside the somewhat-sprawled Orion and lifted its leg against his trousers before lowering again (without having done anything), a wolfy grin on its face and in its oddly bright blue eyes. An actual laugh rippled through the room, and the wolf performed a play bow before heading back up to the front of the room. Loping gently, it leaped into the desk chair, which was of the swivel variety: as a result, the chair spun around, hiding the wolf momentarily from view. When it had spun all the way back, a young woman with black hair and the wolf's blue eyes was seen to be occupying the chair, a large grin still crossing her features.
"Good afternoon," Urania, for it was she, greeted the room, which was now buzzing with whispers, "I'm afraid I really couldn't resist doing all that, I like a good joke, you see. Your speculations on where I might be and the significance of the 'dog,'" here she did air-quotes, "were quite amusing to me, as well."
Her smile shone for a moment more, and then she adopted a proper, serious teacher expression.
"Well, enough of that, for now... I'd like to call role. I know most of you, but there's always room for learning more, hmm? So, for that purpose, I'd like you to stand up when I call your name and tell the class something interesting about yourself. Alright?" She glanced at them all, then grabbed her role sheet from her extremely messy desk. "Nikki?"
Note: Yes, I know that screws up everyone's posting order, but it's what Urania wants... and who wants to argue with the teacher? That's right... no-one... ;D
