The tracker let out an appreciative whistle when Trevor’s roll came up all ones. Talk about lucky horseshoes. Teague was pretty sure the last time he had luck like that was when he made his own, which coincidentally, he planned on doing on his next turn. He had a gut feeling the other guys weren’t going to take too kindly to Trev’s lucky roll. Grinning at the astonished looks of the other guys at the table he couldn’t help but chuckle, ”Nice roll! Keep that up and I’ll ‘ave to bring ya out more often.”
Taking a long sip of his whiskey Teague casually kept on eye on Lysle? At least that’s the name he thought belonged to the sallow faced man. Kinda looked like a rat. It took all his limited will power not to laugh out loud at that thought, though his eyes did narrow slightly at the roll the rat man came up with. A four of a kind with 4’s followed by a four of a kind with 2’s….something was a little fishy there; could be dumb luck, but no one was that lucky. Ever. Once sure, but twice? Teague nodded and shook his head in mock disbelief as rat man passed the dice along.
His suspicion of something not being quite right was confirmed when Traver’s threw his first roll. All 2’s followed by all 2’s again. There was definitely something up, and the trackers first thought was loaded dice. Interesting…. He did laugh along with the rest of the table though, when the man seemingly pushed his luck a little too far and ended up with nothing on his third throw, adding another galleon to the pot before passing the dice, looking more than a little smug as he did. Two against four eh? Now those were the odds the tracker was used too.
Teague reached down nonchalantly and scooped up the dice, running them through his fingers and noting there feel. They felt normal, which meant one of two things: 1) The dice were never tampered and both men just had an inane amount of luck, or 2) Travers had swapped the loaded dice out with his own. Deciding the latter of the two was more likely scenario, the tracker chuckled and tossed the dice out, managing to get a 3 of a kind. Grabbing the two remaining dice, he did a little slight-of-hand of his own; swapping both dice out for his own modified pair, as he tossed them to the table for a pair of 1’s.
It was at that same moment the server came with a round of whiskeys ordered earlier. Teague used the small distraction to slip a tiny magnet out of one of his pockets and magically stick it to the underside of the table, along with enough coin to pay for the first round as promised. Once everyone was settled again with drinks in hand Teague passed the dice along. Now it was time for some real fun.
