7:12 p.m.
Another essay was tossed casually into the steadily growing pile of marked things, a red ‘E’ scribbled in the upper right hand corner of the parchment. So far his 6th years had impressed him. Too bad he hadn’t thought about teaching them how to turn typical defensive spells into highly successful offensive weapons sooner. If that was all it took to get the students to write quality papers like the ones he was going through now, the professor couldn’t help but think the rest of the year could be downright fun. He glanced up at the clock on the wall of his classroom. Normally he would do marking in his office, but he was expecting someone tonight for some lessons in dueling, or at least that’s what Gideon had said when the man asked if he could do him a favor.
His new perspective student was expected to show up around 7:30 p.m. The professor had finished preparing the few things he’d need for the lesson shortly after his last class. Since he had a couple hours to kill after that, Dresden figured it would be time well spent if he caught up on some of his marking. So, he’d summoned a house elf and had supper sent to his classroom and marked while he ate, and for the first time this term, felt like he was actually making head way.
It wasn’t until he heard a soft knock on the door followed by the turning of the handle that he looked up, a warm smile on his face. Ah, this must be Miss Delacruz. ”Come on in,” he started as he set down the paper he was marking and standing, smoothing out his robes as he did so. Once that was done he offered her his hand. ”Lissianna Delacruz I presume?”
