Liam was a little surprised at the return of Casey to the pub. He was sure that in those moments of complete silence as he disappeared that that was the end of it; he didn’t think that after what words were exchanged that he was going to come back, but he did. After retrieving the cold brew especially stored for his special customer, Liam told his crew that he needed to step out on some personal business. It was almost unusual for him to leave on such short notice and also hard for him to trust his pub to the clumsy barmaid and two new bartenders, but at this point, he had no choice.
He led Casey through the back entrance, where he had originally entered from and moved deep into the alley where there was a sure shroud of complete darkness so they could apparate out of the muggle world and into their own. The ride was almost always a rocky one but after many years of moving between worlds, Liam was used to the unsteady feeling in his stomach when he landed. They were just outside the mazes, the location only known to him since he was a trusted member of the Order now, but even before he was inducted into their ranks. Kara was hesitant at first, but since the Order’s numbers were dwindling, Liam offered his strength to help them out to the best of his abilities.
As they appeared, Liam took off in a full sprint through the mazes, hoping that Casey would be close behind. The mazes would change behind them as they ran, knowing that this security measure was both a necessity and a nuisance. “Come on,” he shouted behind him, not turning back for a second as he ran. It nearly felt like a marathon as the he darted through, full speed ahead, until he finally reached the end and turned, completely winded, to see where Casey was, hopefully close behind him.
“Liam??” A voice called to him, clearly confused.
