He watched over the top of his book as many of his fellow Slytherin’s rushed about, trying to find last minute items for costumes and planning what various things they could do while at the Halloween Ball. Yuck. No, it was safe to say the young seeker wanted no part in any of the festivities that were about to take place in an hour or so… and then silence. Beautiful, wonderful silence. Unfortunately that meant he still had to suffer through and hour’s worth of antics before his housemates finally all took off, or at least the ones that were going (hopefully all).
Subaru turned his attention back to the page he was on and continued reading, no longer paying attention to what was happening in the common room. Hense he didn’t realize the impending disaster heading his way until a startle squeak followed by a small body crashed into his chair and subsequently tipped him over. The seeker flailed helplessly as he felt himself fall, reaching out to grab the table in hopes to save himself, only to miss. The end result being him lying flat out on his back with some first year on top of him, stammering apologies as if his life depended on it. The older Slytherin frowned before attempting to disentangle himself from his younger house mate. Why him? What had he ever done to karma that warranted this? Surely there was nothing! ”Get off me!” he growled out as the kid finally managed to scramble to his feet, allowing the seeker to get himself to a sitting position.
”I-I’m s-sorry! I didn’t mean too, it was an accident! I was trying to get the foot of my costume off and then there was a ghost and, and..”
Subaru let out a frustrated sigh. ”Whatever, just don’t do it again…” The kid nodded and took off without wasting another minute. He turned looking for his book and once it was located he reached out for it before scrambling to his feet himself and righting his chair. He debated a long moment before deciding it was safe enough to sit back down, though he did maneuver his chair so he could see anything else unexpected that might come his way.
