"We'll be back soon, Panda. I promise."
"... yeah... soon..." Sofi couldn't answer much better than that, though, for she really was feeling rather faint. Maybe it was just hunger, or tiredness, but she felt actually dizzy. Justin's supporting arm around her waist helped a bit, but as she leaned into him to keep herself upright, she had the strangest feeling that she was... hearing something... voices...
Did I faint already? What the hell?
"We'll ask my mam to take us back to my house, k? Both of us can clean up, and maybe you can find something of my mam's to wear, yeah?"
"Aye, alright," she murmured back, unintentionally imitating her friend's Irish cadence in her strange state. She felt as though she was going to stagger when he released her so that she could go through the door, but she managed to stay upright. When he held her again, she flopping back against him, not even thinking how it might look. She'd rather look foolish than fall flat on her face.
She listened to the traded conversation between father and son, wordlessly taking Justin's father's hand when he held it out to her. She forced herself to relax, even during the strangling sensation of Apparition, and was rewarded with not falling down when they re-materialized someplace else. She sat down rather hastily on the floor, waiting until Mr. McDowell came back, this time with his son.
"Now, I didn't say anything back there because I didn't want to get your mam worrying about you, but you can't go to Hogsmeade, ok?"
"Why not?"
"People were murdered last night or early this morning. There's supposedly an investigation being carried out, but I don't want you around there. They don't know where the murderer is, and the heads and such are still around in the street."
"Diagon Alley it is, then, da."
"That's my boy. Now, I need to get back to your mam. I'm trusting you to be good?"
"I will."
Sofi levered herself back up once Justin's father had gone, staring at her friend with wide eyes.
"... he said Hogsmeade, didn't he..." It was a statement, not a question. The feeling of dizziness got stronger still, and she finally staggered, face-planting into Justin's chest, her arms going about his waist instinctively. "... my parents are there, mate..." she mumbled into the planes of his chest, barely audible even to herself, her voice and body shaking badly, "T-they were stayin' there over Christmas... they wanted ta be able ta see me on Christmas Day, since... since I couldn't go home for hols." She managed to raise her head, her eyes meeting Justin's, her expression stricken. "D-d'ya think...?"
Note: I can't say one way or another what's happened to her parents yet, because I JUST had this idea... I'll have to discuss it with Orion before I know for sure.
