"Alright," Lance replied curtly, fixing his jacket and safely stowing away his wand, bringing his hand up slowly to force Evie's down. "It's obvious I'm not wanted here for reasons that escape me. I did nothing but offer to help. It's not my fault it was misconstrued as harrassment, nor does it speak well of her majesty to have assumed that was what I was trying to do and have started such a scene. She should have handled it more tactfully. She asked me to create a meeting date, but I knew she would tell her husband, who in turn would allow me nowhere near the Ministry or meeting place to see her when said meeting was scheduled, and I explained that to her. It's her loss and not mine. I'm terribly sorry for all the problems that our lady has caused to befall this fine establishment, and the bartender--Nick, you said?--will be fully compensated for any damages. He need only send the bill to my father, Kurt Ulrich, who will be expecting it. Good day, all."
He stopped beside Evie, saying quietly to her, "You'll live to regret this, Professor, and no, that is not a threat. It's merely the truth because one day you will find out from another source what I was starting to tell you is the truth, and even more than that source and I will be able to confirm the story, but that source will turn out to be an old friend, who you will have killed for causing problems, but by the time you realize it was the truth, it will be too late, and you'll be trapped. No one else will dare it, but I'm sure at least one of your old buddies is looking to rescue you. I wonder who it might be. Professor Lawson, perhaps? You two looked rather cozy at the Yule Ball the night of the attack, after all. Hmm...I suppose only time will tell." He smirked, looking her in the eye in a know-it-all fashion before saying aloud to everyone as he pushed towards the door, "Good day!" And with that, he was gone out into the storm.
