KYLE EVERMOORE CAMDEN
34 (in June). Citizen, Of the former OOtP. Unemployed. Former Ravenclaw.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
BIRTHDAY: June 8th, 1978
BIRTHPLACE: Bracknell, England
CURRENT: London
FAMILY:
• Mother: Holly Elizabeth Camden, aged 58. Half-blooded status.
• Father: Tristan Rian Camdem, aged 59. Pureblooded status.
BLOOD: ¾-blooded
ORIENTATION: Heterosexual
WAND: 12” birch, phoenix feather core
DESCRIPTION: Kyle stands at 5’11” and weighs around 175 pounds. He has short brown hair that generally falls the way he keeps it. His eyes are a misty green shade of hazel. He has a scar or two here and there, but no markings that are particularly noticeable.
PLAY-BY: Michael Weatherly
-------------------------------------------------------------------
PATRONUS: A raven, the same as his animagus form.
BOGGART: Kyle fears loneliness, loss, and desperately feels the need to be wanted. He generally hides this fear, but it is always nagging him in the back of his mind during these uncertain times. He has attempted to cope with this fear by keeping people at an arm’s length, to prevent the hurt of loss, but he knows in the end this tactic can easily backfire by causing what he was trying to prevent in the first place.
MIRROR OF ERISED: Kyle would probably see himself married, with a family, and surrounded by friends. Things would be peaceful and happy, thus relieving Kyle of worry.
HABITS: When bored, scared, or worried, Kyle finds the need to pace and think. His mind is a whirl of thoughts during these times, but can sometimes lead to his best ideas.
PET PEEVE: Ignorance toward others founded upon baseless principles. In particular this applies to blood prejudice that has become the norm of today. He’s obviously had to come to terms with hiding his feelings toward it in today’s society.
STRENGTHS:
• Calm and Collected. Kyle is extremely cool and calculating and can thrive even under pressure. He tends to be a voice of reason among chaos. Before taking sides on most issues, Kyle views every angle of the problem from a neutral perspective. He is very reason-based in all of his decisions.
• Intelligent. Kyle was always book smart, hence being a former Ravenclaw. He is very good at deduction, reasoning, and reaching general conclusions. He knows a variety of obscure spells and formulas from his times at school.
• Wandwork. In addition to knowing spells, Kyle is also adept at casting them. He is particularly good at casting forms of magic such as the charms and transfiguration schools of spells. Though he doesn’t consider himself a skilled duelist, this is obviously a large factor in duels.
WEAKNESSES:
• Emotions. Kyle has always had trouble integrating his emotions into his thoughts. They make him feel uncertain and confused, so he usually tries to hide them. It also makes personal relationships hard to establish. His fear of loss and loneliness is the prime underlying reason for remaining outwardly cold to others. As he bottles his feelings up, they often tend to boil over, usually in outbursts of anger and frustration.
• Indecisive. Kyle’s need to consider things over before taking a side on an issue can make him seem wishy-washy and indecisive at times. Most situations call for faster decisions on things than Kyle can muster, which can be extremely detrimental.
• Overly attached. For the few friends and loved ones Kyle does have, Kyle tends to become overly attached. His need to be wanted means he would do anything within his power he could to maintain connection.
• Non-confrontational. Kyle hates fighting and attempts to avoid confrontation whenever he can. This can lead to additional indecisiveness when confrontation is inevitable.
TRAITS:
Kyle is one of those people who have a knack for blending into the background. He has an easy-going attitude and dislikes confrontation of any kind. That doesn't mean, though, that he will not stand up for what he thinks is right. He is generally sociable and friendly, glad to help out almost anyone, but will rarely ever talk about his own personal issues. He has a great fear of loss and thus has become outwardly cold to try and avoid it. He knows that this attitude can very well lead to the loneliness he so greatly fears, but still exhibits it. It is probably the only illogical thing he allows himself to cling to.
He has a fair bit of intellect, but would never flaunt it or put others down. He is logistical and calm, and tends to be a voice of reason among chaos. He looks at things from a neutral perspective in order to gain a view from all sides. This makes him slightly indecisive, and he often over-analyzes things. He rarely gives into his emotions, which can be an asset or flaw in a given situation. Though often light-hearted, he also has a serious nature about him.

HISTORY:
Kyle is a direct descendant of the pureblood Camden bloodline from Ireland. His father severed ties with the family, though, obviously through some sort of dispute. Kyle always had a suspicion that it was because he married a half-blood, his mother. Whatever the case, he never found out as his father was always touchy on the issue. What it did mean for Kyle, though, was that he was technically ¾ pureblood. Bloodlines, though, never meant anything to him. He never picked up on the prejudice that his father had most likely grown up with. In fact the atmosphere of his childhood was almost certainly opposite of this scenario. His grandmother, a muggle, was one of his favorite people growing up. She would often take him (as her only grandchild) on outings to London or the like, and she instilled values of goodness and kindness into him. She was most likely the greatest influence on his values of equality, and the reason he can't stand hate and violence.
Kyle also never picked up on his father's Irish accent. Born and raised in England, Kyle went to Hogwarts like all the children of magical families did. Sorted into Ravenclaw, he focused on his studies a lot. Though he generally kept to himself, he did make some friends. He was still outwardly friendly, and not so passive as to not stand up for his values. This is evidenced by his joining of Dumbledore's Army in his final year at Hogwarts.
Before the Takeover
After graduating, at the top of the class, Kyle joined the Order of the Phoenix. He caught the tail end of the Order, though, as Voldemort fell a little over a year or two later. During that time he played a passive supporting role as a contact in the Ministry for the Order. He was juggled between departments, which allowed him the best access to all information and possible recruits. After the first fall of Voldemort, Kyle maintained his job, unsure of what exactly he wanted to do with himself. When Voldemort was resurrected, he resumed his post for the Order once again.
Following his second defeat, Kyle continued to be shuffled between Ministry departments for several years. He became highly restless and tired with this work, and when he was offered a teaching position at Hogwarts he quickly accepted. That was how he came to be the Arithmancy Professor at Hogwarts for the 2008 - 2009 term. It was the perfect job for him, and he enjoyed it thoroughly. While there, he met Bridget Callighan whom he began dating. He also met several other friends from his past. He tried to console Casey Winslow, depressed and pent up, worried about a threat of returning Death Eaters. Kyle, too caught up in his own illusion of happiness and unable to conceive such possibilities, assured him it wouldn't happen. He would begin change his mind, however, when another friend, John Kenneth, alleged to have been ambushed by Death Eaters. John somehow convinced Kyle to tell the others that he was dead, so that he could protect his new family.
This is where Kyle's disillusionment began. He began to revert to his old self again - fearful of loss and attachment. He despised the situation he had been put in and withdrew, keeping his feelings even from Bridget so as not to upset her. The final resolution to this process, and the end of his perfect job came on the night of the Yule Ball that year.
Since the Takeover
When the Death Eaters attacked Hogwarts, Kyle was quick to aid the students. He rushed to help Bridget, saving her by taking out an attacking Death Eater. Once the massacre was over and the remaining children sent home, Kyle stayed with Bridget, keeping mostly to London. At first Kyle avoided the Order, depressed and despaired. Eventually he came around though, and regrouped with the remaining members. There were few, and now Kyle had to fear for his own safety as well as others. At first, Kyle thought it best to perhaps get back into the Ministry, but it was around this time that an announcement reached the Order that Damien Noland was opening an interim school to temporarily replace Hogwarts while it was closed. With an offer to reinstate former Professors to their posts, Kyle decided to accept so that he could keep an eye on the school for the Order and perhaps gain support.
This is how Kyle managed to avoid death at the hands of Death Eaters, unlike several of his fellow Order members. The school faced hardship and objection from the Ministry, but due to its secrecy and and defense it was completely isolated from the horrors in the outside world that occurred. It managed to finish off the end of the term, just in time for the raids. Kyle continued to stay at the school over the summer, if only for his own safety. Hogwarts would reopen the following year, but only to purebloods. Noland tried to reopen his school for the "less than pure", but faced fierce and swift opposition from all sides. The Death Eaters were in full power by then, and would not let it pass. It was futile anyway, as most families would not allow their families to be separated anyway.
During his time there, Kyle introduced Damien and several other people he deemed trustworthy to the Order of the Phoenix. Eventually though, so few and destroyed, it was hopeless for them to take an organized action, or so Kyle thought. Damien was enthusiastic about it and took the lead, forming a new Order. With the school element quashed, he decided to turn the school into a safe haven for the persecuted and the headquarters for the new Order of the Phoenix. Kyle summoned all of the remaining Order members, and from there on out assisted Damien with the Order's activities. They would have a lot to do in the coming months for the Death Eaters finally reared their heads. Kyle helped to save many refugees as well as recruit new Order members.
Kyle's near-pureblood status could potentially let him walk freely about. However, the Death Eaters could also know of his connections to the Order, so he tried not to risk it. His father as a pureblood would be fine unless the deemed him a traitor, in which case Kyle knew him to be resourceful enough to keep the family safe from harm. Kyle finally started putting to use his animagus form; he had been in the process of registering back when Voldemort rose for the second time, but he decided not to. Thankfully he never got around to trying again, and thus remains unregistered.
After a time, Kyle finally gave in and used his mostly-pureblood status to reenter the Death Eater society so that he might be of more use to the Order. Really, though, he was truly frightened of loss and still angry for allowing himself to think he could lead a happy, normal life and thus letting his guard down. Feeling particularly guilty over the loss of his friend Casey, and happening to meet Evie on one of his supply runs, he vowed to save his lost friend's wife in any way possible.
Kyle left the safehouse in order to do this, much to the dismay of Bridget. Kyle had very little success in his plans though, and became hopeless and depressed. His state of mind was particularly shattered on the day he found out that Evie had mysteriously died and that the Order leader had been captured. To make things worse, he found out that his "lost friend" Casey had been alive this whole time. Kyle's emotions went haywire. A mix of guilt and embarrassment with himself for trying to save Evie in honor of Casey when he was in fact not dead combined with rage over how selfish Casey was not to have let any of those who cared about him know he was still alive.
Kyle didn't know what to think or believe anymore. He spent the following months trying to piece together his emotions and composure. He felt so... empty. He felt as though his worst fears had come to pass. He had lost the ones he cared about, but in a worse way than even death. It was through acts of selfishness, whether his own or that of others, that had caused him to lose everything he cherished. In running away from the safehouse, trying to honor a friend and protect the ones he loved, he had only driven himself further apart from them.
Word eventually reached him of the coming execution of Damien Noland. Kyle was then determined to find his way back to the safehouse to help somehow. Only then did he learn that their former leader had actually been rescued despite the show put on in Diagon Alley. Eventually Casey Winslow tried to call to order a meeting, to reconvene the Order’s purpose. Tensions flared and the meeting fell to pieces, leaving the Order in perhaps even more shambles than before. Kyle then stayed at the safehouse for a while, attempting to help out there once again. There was no plan anymore. Damien was still recuperating and might not even want to lead should he become capable again. Eventually Kyle started leaving the safehouse. He comes back periodically to make sure things are ok and keep in contact with certain people. He lacks a purpose and is seeking to find one somewhere and somehow.
