Weddings.
Elana hated weddings. Moreover, she hated weddings that involved materialistic brats like Amana and her air headed brother Jaleth. Day after day Elana was trying to talk Jaleth out of marrying this snob but to no avail. After crashing his bachelor party the night before, Elana had failed her final attempt in sabotaging the Lenor merger with Amana’s family.
That’s all she could see it as, really -- a merger. Two families coming together to witness the joining of partners in crime, really. No matter what Jaleth said, Elana couldn’t believe her brother when he said he loved this woman…there was some sort of spell involved…there had to be! Of course, she never told her brother the reason why she didn’t want him to marry Amana was because she hated the woman to her very core -- but she explained over and over that it was going to be a big mistake and even after the 15th time shouting ‘this is a bad idea’ at her brother, he wouldn’t get the hint.
No…she couldn’t ever tell Jaleth she hated Amana or he probably wouldn’t listen, and that’s all he needed to do!
Looking at herself in the mirror, Elana scowled. Her blond hair was curled and twisted upward, her black and sapphire swirl designer dress fit perfectly but that didn’t make her any happier. After trying to refuse to be in the bridal party, Elana finally gave in and tried to save face with Jaleth by being a bridesmaid. Impatiently eyeing the clock, she counted down to thirty minutes til doomsday.
She needed to see her brother. Immediately.
