"What's new in my life?" Lily chuckled, twining her arm through Lance's as they walked. In truth, the only things she would consider 'new' were her aunt's offer and her test scores, both of which they had already talked about. For a moment the petite brunette scrambled mentally for something to talk about, before sighing slightly and continuing. "Well, if I'm not mistaken, I think my aunt suspects that Lionel is more than just 'overprotective', if you want to call that something new," Lily said with a half-hearted chuckle. "She noticed a bruise on my leg when she was fitting me for a dress that she made me, and wanted to know what had happened," she added with a dismissive flick of her hand. What she didn't tell her boyfriend was that her aunt's first reaction was to assume that he had done the bruising. Lily had quickly and vehemently disabused her of that idea, but now her godmother's suspicions rested firmly on Lionel, which as far as Lily was concerned was just as bad. Lionel already didn't like her mother's sister because of her halfblood husband, and Lily shuddered to think what Lionel would do if he thought Giselle suspected anything of him.
Lily let out another soft sigh and brought her mind back to the present. Turning and giving Lance a soft kiss as an apology for the heavy subject matter, she added with an apologetic smile, "On a happier note, my little cousin, Angelina, was just accepted to Beauxbatons for this year. Oh and Jacques- you probably saw him behind the counter at auntie's shop- was just made a Prefect there as well." To her, she sounded vapid and rather air-headed going on about her family like that, but whatever; he was the one who had asked. "What about you, honig?"
