Well, he would have been lying if he were to say he had been expecting her to latch on so easily. Even if she had talked about making him comfortable or whatever else she had said – she had said something like that, right? Or had he been imagining. It didn’t matter. Half of the women he encountered on a regular basis wouldn’t have responded positively to any of his advances, yet alone do what she was proceeding to do without any further questioning. He couldn’t even get some of the wizards he worked with to listen to everything he said and obey any sorts of commands he might have had. A smirk slid upon his face. If only everyone bowed to his will this easily. Somewhere in the crevices of his mind, he knew that was not an option. Besides, it took all the fun out of. Of course, thinking through a situation and playing his cards right was not exactly something that was easy for him, his head spinning and his vision out of whack.
His eyes had lazily found Selene somewhere along the process. She didn’t even seem very caught off guard by his request, or uncomfortable. He was overthinking this, all of it. He could barely even focus on her face for longer than a moment; though watching her provided a strange sort of stability. It allowed him to stop trying to watch the room as it spiraled around his head. There was something that distinctly showed that Nosferatu were like normal humans. Alistair knew somewhere in his head that they were different, but that thought barely even passed his radar. She was so pale. He had seen plenty of people who didn’t get out much, or weren’t physically able, this this took it to another level. Her eyes hadn’t really been that unusual to him, but now it was so obvious that he nearly wondered how he had forgotten. Even if he had completed that thought, he would’ve known the answer without even trying.
“Hmm.”
It was a word of contentment, pleased with the way this was panning out, even if her amount of clothing had been sparser than most women. She was definitely not bad looking, though, Alistair probably would’ve said that for any sort of woman. Even before the blood loss and alcohol, he would’ve been spewing flirtatious comments and actions as if his life depended on it. Had he been doing that? He couldn’t remember. Then, well, he reminded himself of something else: it didn’t matter. He should have been one to know that sometimes people act differently depending on what they desired. His reached his arms up, resting them a few inches above his head as he surveyed her. “Lovely,” he murmured, the word poorly formed, a thought that had simply fallen off of his tongue. It didn’t matter if she heard it or not. Not even her perspective of his reaction mattered, not unless it served to upset her. He didn’t imagine Selene would’ve taken that one single word poorly.
He could barely understand and piece together what she meant about her comment about liking clothes. It was the average sort of attire. He did tend to wear many layers, but he was coherent enough to know that wasn’t what she meant. He waved a hand, brushing off any sort of response he might’ve given. Small talk right now was going to steer him in the opposite direction. There was something telling him that his answers probably would’ve been hard to follow, he probably would’ve stopped halfway through and said to forget it. The man managed to chuckle, slightly distracted. A smirk was still upon his face as he moved back on to the bed. How they had gotten to this point was a mystery to him, but Alistair wasn’t going to complain. Later, he might have been able to piece it together without much difficulty, but that was proving too much currently. He didn’t want to think about that. He just wanted to think about the present, where they were now.
“Follow my lead.”
