He gave her a sly grin when she said she was game and he made a mental note when her hand slipped into her jacket pocket that he knew held her wand. Smart girl, clearly not afraid and even if she was, she hid it well. He pulled her closer while at the same time pulling his wand from his sleeve and a moment later and the familiar sensation of being squashed through a small tube could be felt. What felt like less than a second later, they were standing in an alley way quite similar to the one they just left. ”Home sweet home,” he said nodding his head in the direction of Lure, a fairly well known club in wizarding London. ”C’mon, Jace will let us in through the back, then we can avoid that unnecessary mess.” Of course by mess he had meant the line that was currently snaking its way down the street.
Bast turned to make sure Lee was still following as he set off across the street and gave the Bouncer on duty a wave as he approached. A few quick words were passed and the promise of a free pint and the bouncer opened a magically hidden door to the left of the main entrance. Success.
The bartender then lead them into the club that was effectively his home and base of operations, down a short flight of stairs and into a dimly lit, narrow hallway. The hallway exited it out just behind the main bar and when the pair entered the main portion of the club, Bast couldn’t help bet let out an approving whistle. The place was packed and definitely hopping. He motioned for Lee to stay where she was a moment and slid in easily between the two he normally worked the back with, grabbing a half open bottle of vodka (he figured it was a good choice considering Lee had been drinking it earlier) and two shot glasses. That done he moved back beside Lee and pointed with the shot glasses to the far end of the club. ”Set of stairs over there is where we’re headed,” he told her, leaning in so she could hear him over the roar of the music, ”Second floor, third door on the left.”
He waited for her to give him some indication that she understood, he was only telling her in his best interest, in case they got separated on the way there. He could weave through crowds with ease but he wasn’t sure if Lee was comfortable doing the same. The bartender headed off then, dodging clubbers and wait staff alike, checking back every so often to make sure Lee was still following. Once that the stairs he bounded up them with ease, keeping his pace reasonable and only stopping in front of his door long enough to wave his wand in a few complex gestures before fishing a key out of his pocket and unlocking the door. Once that was done he motioned Lee in, shutting the door behind them once they were both inside.
As far as rooms went, his wasn’t all that spectacular. Just the standard really if one thought about it: a simple layout, and even simpler furnishings. But the value of the place wasn’t the place itself. No, it was the scads of bookshelves that lined the walls and were filled will all manners of magical contents, from books to scrolls, items of various sizes and shapes, antiques and rare artifacts. And it didn’t stop there. A good chuck of item had spilled over and covered portions of the floor. All in all it was cozy in the bartenders mind. He kicked his shoes off to the side and walked in, setting the bottle and shot glasses down on the coffee table. ”Welcome to my flat luv.”
