Midnight
Tasha woke in a sweat in the middle of the night, from one of her typical nightmares, and sat up. She was wide awake and could not shake the dream, seeing the death of her parents again and again from what happened that summer. She closed her eyes, feeling tears roll down her cheeks once more as the physical and emotional pain she felt seeped past her body and mind once again.
She looked around the room of the girls dorm, watching all the others sleep peacefully and soundly, at least it seemed that way to her. *Lucky.* she thought softly to herself to each and everyone one of them. Sure they, like her, had their problems but at least they had someone to look after them, someone who was always there, who came home from work every day, someone to hold….someone to love…someone…
She whipped another tear away the only tears she cried (she refused to let any fall when anyone else was around) and quietly got up to look out the window. The clock tower chimed as it had reached midnight, and she knew she was not going back to sleep anytime soon. Looking to the forest, she sighed as she remembered back at the Salam Institute of how her and her friends would run the forest late at night, such nights like this…
Looking around, she thought the worst case of trouble she would be in, but in a since she did not care at the moment. She got dressed, and quietly made her way out of the castle and to the grounds, grateful that the snow that had fallen early yesterday had not stuck to the ground. Reaching the forest she closed her eyes changing into a beautiful brown wolf, and began to ran, wishing and hoping something good would come out of something she had been missing.
