Of course he had known she hadn't been in the United Kingdom or Ireland for a while. Lefcourt Castle had been watched, and if she had tried to pass any of the checkpoints, she would have been held for questioning given the nature of her last excursion into the wizarding world. No, she hadn't killed her cousin out of malice nor had she premeditated the murder. It had been plain and simple self-defense, but all the same, people wanted justice. They wanted a trial. They wanted to see it seem like something more was done besides questioning. They wanted a public trial that confirmed what few said if she was to be released or what many said if she were to be arrested. It was any checkpoint anywhere near the Lefcourt Castle that had been told otherwise--not that many were anywhere near this remote location.
"I will," Trevor replied, "and whatever else you need to see." He sighed, finishing off what was left of his now room temperature coffee and making a slight face. He hated coffee when it was like this, but whatever. He also knew some people hated the smell if they had to dump leftover coffee down the sink later on. Granted, the house elf would probably do it, but whatever. It didn't matter. Old habits died hard. "If you will arrive at my office tomorrow at noon, I shall give you your papers and then show you the train where the note was found and the school, if you feel it necessary." He figured there was no need to continue this at the moment when both their requirements would be met easiest tomorrow afternoon after the damned press conference, but he remained seated for the moment on the off chance she had something else to throw in.
