I need to calculate
[/font]--------------------------------------------------Name: Berenice Pangbourn ( Nee. Moxley)
Age | B-day: 24 || 1st of January 1987
House | Year: Gryffindor, class of 2004
Bloodline: Pureblood
Position: Citizen - in hiding.
Side: Own
Occupation: Waitress at the Hogs Head

Hair: a dark red, she bewitched it in her 6th year at school for a joke. She liked it so now it’s permanent
Eyes: a sort of grey, green mixture
Height: 5 foot 5

Markings: Berenice has no markings or outward scars. The only thing abnormal about her is that she has a wedding ring charmed (or cursed) onto her finger. She cannot remove it. Her husband made himself very clear, any attempt to move it would trigger a worse, far more dangerous jinx. Berenice is unsure of he is bluffing, so has made no attempt to find a counter charm.

[/blockquote]What creates my own madness
--------------------------------------------------Phobia:
Number one phobia of Berenice is anyone harming her daughter Elise. She would easily through herself in front of a wand for that little girl. She’s the center of Berenice’s world.
Apart from that, Berenice is terrified of her family or husband finding her. She’s as good as a blood traitor now. If they find her now Berenice will be severally punished – well he’d always threatened her- and would never give her another chance of escape.
Habit: – Berenice can be very nervous around people, a far cry from the strong Gryffindor she’d been at school. She has trouble meeting people’s eyes when she speaks, and tends not to try and involve herself in conversations.
- When she feels threatened, Berenice’s first reaction is too run for it. If she can get out of site she will – but that’s not so easy when you often have an 23 month old in tow. Children that age don’t understand words like “quiet” very well.
Pet Peeve: – Anyone she doesn’t know interacting with her daughter. It’s a sure fire way to get her wand drawn on you, and believe me, she can use it. You don’t want to be on the receiving end of any jinxes or curses.
– People not leaving her alone/ not taking the hint.
Personality: Berenice is a product a broken relationship, even though she’d trying to gather the threads of her old personality. Back before she’d ever heard the name “Eric Pangbourn”, Renn had been quite the confident young girl. She’d had a wide circle of friends, confident with a wand, and trusted easily.
But after the many negative words, the pain she’d suffered at the hands of the man who’d promised “To love and to cherish” her on their wedding day, she’s not the girl she once was.
Berenice is often disgusted at herself. She was meant a Gryffindor – famed for their bravery, yet she had allowed herself to be someone’s personal punching bag/target practice for around eight years. She’s trying her best to find that old girl again, but it isn’t easy.
Even after 6 months out on her own, Berenice is nervous. She half expects every person who calls her name to be someone who knows she’s gone missing. She worries about it too, not really for her though. If Elise had never been born, Berenice would have probably never have tried to leave her husband. She didn’t leave to save herself, it was her daughter. But the nerves remain; she fears what will happen to them if they’re found, because Renn loves she daughter, more than anything else in the world. Hell that little girl is her world. Call her an over protective parent if you want – Berenice would probably wear it as a badge of honor. She only leaves her daughter alone because she has no other choice, the Hog’s Head is no place for a little girl and that’s the only job she could find. She’s working so she can make the life for her daughter better, it was worth it.

History: Berenice, or “Renn” to her friends, came from a long line of Purebloods – and she was never allowed to forget it. According to the Moxleys, blood status was important, even vital, to the running of the Wizarding World.
They taught these too values their children, Richard and Oscar the twin boys, and then Berenice. It was Auston’s wish for his children to carry on the legacy and uphold the values of the family – in fact he quickly became obsessed with the idea.
It didn’t help his plan when the children were sorted at Hogwarts it was a very mixed result. The two boys did their parents proud and secured places in Slytherin House, but to their disbelief Renn was sorted into Gryffindor. Her parents, both former Slytherins, were bemused to say the least, but dealt with it – at least she wasn’t Hufflepuff.
For the most part, Berenice’s time at Hogwarts was a happy one, she was bright and excelled at her academic subjects - her particular forte was potions. The teachers fully expected it of her – after all strong Magical Ability had ran in the Moxley blood. Both her older brothers were very bright.
As Berenice grew through the school she made friends, and was well liked by people of all blood statuses. In particular she became friendly with a Muggle born Gryffindor named Benjamin Hudson. They were close friends right through their years at school. Allot of people speculated over whether there was anything more serious between them but the honest truth is that they were nothing but friends. Her two older brothers watched, more than a little bemused, as her younger sister fraternized with Mudbloods, and contacted their parents.
They flipped out. When Renn arrived home after her 7th year her parents began to plan although they didn’t tell Berenice they knew of this Benjamin just yet. There were rumblings in the underground – the first whisperings of unrest, and her father wanted to react accordingly. The purity of Blood had to be maintained in order too survive. If Berenice didn’t realize that then her parents would protect her from herself. She may not appreciate it at that point, but ultimately it would be good for her. This world was changing, and people were becoming less tolerant of those who were not like themselves. Berenice needed to choose her side now to stay safe, and right now she was choosing wrong.
The son of one of Auston’s business associates was looking for a pureblood girl for a relationship and without Renn’s knowledge set the pair up. Eric was 6 years older than Renn, an Ex-Durmstrang student who currently worked for the Department of Mysteries at the British Ministry of magic. Their fathers spoke for a while – before agreeing. Berenice was to Marry Eric Pangbourn before the end of the summer. The union of the two proud pureblood families would be good for both of them, even if Berenice didn’t know it yet.
When she told, Renn threw a fit. Mind you, could you blame her? She began screaming about how she wouldn’t be marrying a man she barely knew. She didn’t stop until her father pulled his wand on her. Words like respect and gratitude and duty were thrown about more than once buy her father. And when Renn tried to explain that she could find her own partner her father had spat words at her which shocked her too the core.
”Like that Mudblood Hudson you’ve being hanging out with at school? Don’t you worry – you brothers have kept us well informed.”
Berenice opened her mouth but nothing came out.
Her father had sneered, shaking his head, ”What I thought. And you’ll listen Berenice, because if you don’t filthy mudblood friend might not stay so safe.”
The look in her father’s eyes had told her she wasn’t joking, so in the end she gave in.
Eric Pangbourn wasn’t so bad in the days they spent together before the wedding. He wasn’t unkind, or cruel, just… distant. Mind you, that often came with the job as an unspeakable. When you couldn’t talk to anyone about your work it couldn’t be easy. Berenice made excuses, right up too and past the wedding day. Perhaps she’d grow to love her new husband, and he here… But maybe not.
The abuse first started about 8 months into the marriage, when Eric came home to an owl trying to deliver a letter. He opened it, scanned the words, and saw red. Renn’s father had warned him of this boy “ Benjamin Hudson” and although they’d made it clear that communication was too sense – here was a letter.
He’d grabbed his wife by the hair, demanding how long they’d been back in contact, and when Renn had told him the truth that this was the first letter he’d sent her since the end of school he didn’t believe it. Renn begged, swearing to him that was the truth, but he just became angrier and angrier. Finally he pulled out his wand, pointing it straight at his young wife. Renn didn’t know what he’d been planning on doing too her – not that she could have blocked it with her wand upstairs – but something made him falter. He lowered his wand a fraction, muttered a few words and blue fire shot out of the end. The gold ring on Berenice’s finger began to burn white hot. She gasped, clutching her hand too her chest and trying desperately too pull of the wedding ring. Eric only chuckled.
“That trying to get rid of me, Berenice? Next time you’re thinking about that, Hudson, remember me! The ring is never coming off your finger!”
And with that he’d turned, storming out of the house. Berenice’s hand had burned for hours (nothing she did would help it) – and by the time the metal was cool enough to touch, it wouldn’t budge just like Eric had said.
So that was their marriage. After the first time he’d attacked her it happened more frequently, sometimes with his hand and others with his wand. At first Renn had tried to fight back with her own magic – but he was far more skilled, and sooner or later she always lost. In the end she stopped trying, that way it was usually over quicker.
Finally Berenice just allowed it too happen, as she slipped into a deep depression. She felt like giving up, and in a way she had, all before a gift from God saved her.
Berenice hadn’t realized she was pregnant for a long time, she never had any cravings and morning sickness had been minimal. By the time she noticed something was a miss and had it confirmed by a healer she was already four months pregnant. Instantly, Renn fell in love with her little bump. Eric was quite indifferent about the whole thing, but by this point Berenice expected nothing less. She wasn’t surprised.
Elise Paige Pangbourn was born on 3rd September 2009, a beautiful, baby girl. The medi-witch who attended to Berenice promised she was perfect, and Berenice believed her, who in the world could be as perfect as her little bundle?
Eric didn’t take cope with the transition into fatherhood very well. Although he never got up at night to attend to his daughter, he was awoken regardless, and it annoyed him all the same.
“ Can’t you keep it quiet?” he’d mutter almost every time. Berenice just held her tongue- her daughter was no “it”.
It all came to a head one night as Berenice put Elise down for a nap before going to make lunch. Eric had been home, a rarity for him, and as he sat and read, the little 18 month old began to cry.
Berenice had heard from the kitchen, but by the time she had gotten up to the nursery, Eric had already snapped. Renn walked in to see her husband shaking her daughter to shut her up. Berenice had seen red, and her wand was in her hand and pointing at his head before she could stop herself.
“Put my daughter DOWN!”
Ooh Eric had not been happy with that. Once Erica was back in her crib, Eric had drawn his own wand, and disarmed his wife with ease. That punishment had been one of the worst. Berenice had tried hard not to scream, as not too scare Elise, but the pain was too severe. When he was finally finished, Eric spat at his wife who was sprawled out on the floor before leaving.
That’s when Berenice knew that this couldn’t continue.
Eric was out, but for how long was a mystery, so Berenice knew she had to act fast. Despite her body’s screams of protect Berenice dragged herself too her feet. She gathered everything herself and Erica would need, along with all the money she could find, and ran for her life with her daughter.
But where too?
Her parents were out of her out of the question, and her brothers would never help her, she’d dropped out of her friends lives and in some cases ignored them for around 6 years… There was no one left for her too run too.
In the end Berenice found herself in Hogsmeade, where an elderly woman agreed to rent a room in her house to the young girl and her daughter. Berenice found herself a job at the Hogshead, where she split herself between waitressing and tending bar. Berenice still lives in fear that one day she’ll be discovered by one of her family – or worse, Eric himself. But she refuses to go back to that life. She wont put Elise in that danger again.
