Perhaps a stranger she could love
Saturday, September 24th, 7:45pm
The foyer wasn't grand or large but of rather decent size. An open door to the right led to the sitting room. Farther down the hall led to a sun room. The lamps were already lit, as if in expectation of them, and a large hanging lamp structure hung from the center of the house. Small framed portraits of various landscapes adorned the walls, the most common being a cliffside over the ocean. There was a small side table a little ways from the front door, a vase of lavender and pussy willows and a miniature carousel adorned the top. Lissianna set the bag of candy on the table, reached over and turned a key on the carousel, Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Masquerade" tinkling away. She smiled at Denver. "Welcome to Cale Manor."
She was about to say more, but there was a small crack and a house elf appeared. A rather, oddly dressed house elf. As was accustomed, house elves did not wear clothing, maybe a rag or two, but this one was wearing something that looked like a cross between Alice's dress from Alice in Wonderland and an cooking apron. "Misses Lisses, you be home late tonight. You should have -" The house elf stopped, noticing Denver for the first time, tennis-ball shaped eyes going wide. It hunched over and pulled its batlike ears down to cover its eyes. "Misses Lisses, you no be saying you bring a man home."
Lissianna knelt down and hugged to poor thing. "I am sorry, Whisper. This is Denver Macintosh. He will be joining me for dinner." Because she knew what Whisper was like, secretly protective of her mistress, Liss leaned in closer and whispered, "He is a good man. I trust him." She stood up again, reclaimed his hand and smiled at him, solidifying her claim. The house elf, Whisper, nodded once. "Yes, Misses Lisses. I will set another place." And disappeared.
Liss ducked her head, face flushing in embarrassment, and tucked a stray lock of hair behind her ear. "I am sorry. I should have told you I have a house elf. Her name is Whisper. She is trustworthy, do not worry." What would he think of her having a house elf? Surely it was better than having slaves. Liss shuddered at the thought. Slaves. It was wrong to force a human being into servitude, no matter what their purity was. She cleared her throat and waved to the rest of the house. "What do you think? Father says Mum named the place after her pet dog." She blushed again, not knowing why she threw in that little bit of trivia.

[Note: I hope Lexi can dance. At least, a little bit. I couldn't find a decent name for the thread. I came up with "Dance of the Butterfly", but thought I would use it for something else.]
