For every green light, there's a warning sign
Lissianna wished she could write this down in the notebook she carried along with her this day, but wasn't quite sure how Selene would take to having such things archived. That would be a question for another day, surely. Blood magic did sound rather interesting. Shame it was only for Nosferatu. She would have loved to learn more about it, maybe even try. Oh well.
The brief flash of the fangs, though, did remind Liss slightly that she was dealing with someone who drank human blood for sustenance. To anyone with actual sense, this sort of situation would have them panicking for the hills. It was true, if one analyzed it a certain way. Nosferatu plus hidden place only accessed by Nosferatu plus clothing could equal a very fancy dinner party for Nosferatu. But Liss didn't think that. Not at first anyway. This lady was kind to her, and therefore, must be treated with kindness in return. How naive. Naive little doll.
The way Selene was talking started to make Liss nervous. Not in the "I'm about to be killed" sort of way, but in the "self-conscious, what did I get myself into" sort of way. "Miss Nightshade, you are making me nervous." But she had been so kind to her today, first saving her, then buying her clothes. Why did she always end up like a stray cat anyway? Liss backed up until the backs of her knees hit the bed, coat falling to the floor. "Per - Perhaps... May I see what clothes you have bought?" All she needed was a bit of breathing space. Just a little.
[Note: This is starting to sound like a softcore romance novel at the end.]
